Freedom of religion is one of the fundamental human rights encapsulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. Over the years, religion has proven to help protect and uphold human existence. However, it has also been used as an excuse for intolerance, violence and extremism in many societies including Nigeria, resulting in death and loss of property. In all these, young people are the most affected. With the recent introduction of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 that emphasizes the importance of youths to work for peace and security, the need for youths to advocate and uphold religious freedom and tolerance has never been more necessary. The quest for religious freedom is not just for religious persons but also for every one of us, as this remains an essential virtue necessary for peace and stability in our pluralistic world. This paper therefore argues that a future of religious freedom is one in which young people can accommodate different belief systems, avoid extremist narratives, and work together towards using religion as an instrument to building societal peace and prosperity.

Minorities in pakistan
This report has focused on certain minority communities, such as the Christian, Hindu and Ahmadi communities, because they are the most visible and most targeted communities for discrimination and violence. However, we recognise all minority communities in Pakistan as sovereign citizens of the state who deserve equality, justice and dignity.
My research indicates that minorities identify strongly with a Pakistani national identity, even as they are persecuted on the basis of their religious identity. Minorities who have a historical connection to this land and have been contributing members of society are now being targeted for their beliefs. Alongside, Pakistan needs to address and take measures to rectify the wide spread prejudice and intolerance within the government, the judiciary, law enforcement, the media, as well as society at large. Ultimately and fundamentally, transition from Pakistan’s currently institutionalised “two-tiered” citizenship, i.e., Muslim and non-Muslim, into one that ensures equality of all citizens and the plurality that was envisioned by Mohammad Ali Jinnah should be supported.

Proposal: The Ark Project and The BEEP Inc
1.) Introduction
Our Movement is not new; it is the same as it was for Freedom, Justice, and Equality since we were labeled as slaves. However, this movement at its core must entail economics.
2.) Historical Context
This is the same movement because none of the previous movements, such as boycotts, were ever completed. For some, maybe, but for the most part, it’s just a place to keep your stable until you’re ready to assimilate them into your system. The rest of the crabs are left in the world’s worst parts, begging for scraps.
3.) Economic Empowerment
Our Movement aims to show that it is indeed possible for the less fortunate to establish their economic system. Everyone else – Caucasian, Asian, Mexican, Israeli, Jews, etc. – has their systems, and they all set up and usurp money from the less fortunate. So, the less fortunate buy from every one of them, yet none of them buy from the less fortunate. Moreover, the less fortunate really don’t have anything to sell.
4.) Collaboration with Organizations
Our Movement will demonstrate how organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Urban League, Black Lives Matter, and others can assist in creating a much more indestructible Black Wall Street.
5.) Vision for the Future
Our Movement will not settle for less than those who came before us and stopped before the rights were equal. The economy, jobs, healthcare, education, housing, incarceration – everything is unfair, and what isn’t is rigged for the less fortunate to fail, as evidenced in society.
6.) Call to Action
Our movement has started and implemented everything needed for the advancement of the economic system. There are positions for only those who understand the importance of this movement, as failure to address it will continue the degradation of the people deemed less fortunate.

Psychological safety in teams is important; team members must feel safe and able to communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver value. It’s also necessary to build long-lasting teams since things will happen and relationships will be strained.
But, how safe is a team? How can we determine if there are any factors that make the team unsafe or have an impact on the team’s culture?
In this mini-workshop, we’ll play games for psychological safety and team culture utilizing a deck of coaching cards, The Psychological Safety Cards. We will learn how to use gamification to gain a better understanding of what’s going on in teams. Individuals share what they have learned from working in teams, what has impacted the team’s safety and culture, and what has led to positive change.
Different game formats will be played in groups in parallel. Examples are an ice-breaker to get people talking about psychological safety, a constellation where people take positions about aspects of psychological safety in their team or organization, and collaborative card games where people work together to create an environment that fosters psychological safety.

- 3. What is Religion • Set of beliefs in the supernatural • Usually tied towards a Supreme Being that controls the physical • Followers are strongly encouraged to gain converts • Major part of an individual’s identity
- 4. Religious Freedom Legal • Fundamental Human Right • Article 18 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights – • “Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This right shall include freedom to have a religion or whatever belief of choice ” • Supported by Article 18 of 1966 International Covenant on Civil and Political rights Practice • Freedom to change beliefs • Under attack all over the world especially in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East • Intolerance of religion often government-sponsored • Lack of religious freedom leads to violent clashes
- 5. Religion in Nigeria • Secular state according to Section 10 and 38 of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria • Major religions are Islam, Christianity and Traditional Religion • Deeply politicised and driver of conflict

Effects of Religious Intolerance on Security in Nigeria • Banditry Terrorism e.g Boko Haram, ISWAP • Elections of corrupt politicians simply based on religious preferences Inter-religious crises e.g Jos Crises from 2001 and Maitatsine crises of 1980 • Prevention of true unity for national development Divisive statements by religious leaders and bodies

- 9. Young People • Massive youth bulge of over 1.8 billion youths globally (UN, 2015) • 72% of Nigeria’s population below 30 years of age (Akanji, 2019) • Young people under 25 are the majority of the population in fragile and conflict-affected societies (UN, 2015)

Young People and Religious Intolerance in Nigeria • Perpetrators and victims of religious violence • Hold fanatical beliefs about religion that could result in violent conflict • Follow hate-inspired directives from religious leaders without critiquing them • Could carry on religious violence into Nigeria’s next generation if not checked.

Effects of Religious Intolerance on Youth • Internal displacement and creation of refugees e.g North-east Nigeria • Increase in crime and insecurity • Radicalisation of youth for violence • Disruption in development of the youth such as education and career • Creation of wrong values on religion and the society

Youth Involvement in Ending Religious Intolerance in Nigeria • UN Security Council Resolution 2250 emphasizes that youth are the key to peace in any society • Involve youth organisations such as the Building Blocks for Peace and Taking All Men Brothers in countering religious extremism campaigns • “Nothing for us Without Us”- only youth can provide innovative ideas to resist intolerance of religions • Engage in inter-religious dialogue between major faiths and gain their commitment to peace in Nigeria • Preach the gospel of religious freedom to Nigerians from all walks of life. • Manage social media to eliminate hate speech targeted towards other faiths

Possibilities of a Nigeria with Religious Freedom • Accommodate different beliefs • Avoid extremist tendencies in any religion • Build bridges across different faiths to resist any incitement by elders to heat up the polity • Invest in education of youths to eliminate ignorance about other faiths.
