1 VAwS-Inspections
On the basis of the legal requirements,
our VAwS-experts will perform first-time
as well as repeat inspections on both new
plants and existing installations. Moreo-
ver, they also execute close-down checks.
We, furthermore, draw up and optimize
inspection plans for complex plants, e.g.,
for process or pipe systems. When per-
forming in-process inspections during the
construction phase, we focus mainly on
checking the completeness and the plausi-
bility of the documentation delivered by
the suppliers and the operating firms.
2 Expert reports
Particularly within the scope of the imple-
mentation of statutory requirements and
other measures, we draw up expert
reports as well as surveyor’s reports with
regard to all aspects of the prevention of
water pollution, e.g., classification and al-
location of VAwS-plants, assessment of
safety arrangements or the verification of
the consistency and leak-tightness of re-
taining basins.
3 Concepts for the prevention
of water pollution and their rea-
lisation
With our practical experience, we develop
concepts for the prevention of water pollu-
tion focusing on the prevention of leakage
and overfilling, recognition and indication
of leakages as well as flood retention of
water pollutants and fire water. Further-
more, we are of assistance in the imple-
mentation of concepts for the prevention
of water pollution due to our well-founded
engineering know-how.

to a cost-minimization strategy. In this
context, we will determine the scope of
need for action, prepare lists of measures
to be taken which also show the degree of
urgency, execute cost estimates and we
also will be of assistance when it comes to
choosing suppliers technical systems.
5 Licensing application and
maintaining good contacts to
authorities
We draw up all kinds of licensing and per-
mission applications relating to laws con-
cerning water and waterways, e.g., appli-
cations referring to suitability tests as well
as applications in accordance with the
Law Concerning the Protection against
Harmful Effects on the Environment
through Air Pollution, Noise, Vibrations
and Similar Factors (BImSchG) and the
building code (BauO). Moreover, we check
auxiliary conditions referring to the laws
concerning water and waterways which
might turn up in administrative decisions.
We, additionally offer our assistance when
it comes to talks to representatives of ad-
ministrative bodies.
6 Documentation at operati-
onal level
We will draw up cadastral maps as well as
descriptions of your plant, VAwS-operat-
ing instructions, alarm, monitoring and
maintenance plans, check lists as well as
customer specific design specifications
and guidelines concerning the prevention
of water pollution. In doing so, we strictly
follow all relevant statutory provisions and
technical guidelines.
7 Classification of water pollu-
tants
Based on the information of the individual
substances and taking into account the
general administrative directive concern-
ing substances hazardous to water we will
