This document summarizes a presentation about using UV-curable powder coatings on MDF substrates. UV powder coatings can finish MDF faster than liquid or thermally-cured coatings, in as little as 20 minutes. They use less energy and plant space, increase productivity, and provide environmental benefits like being solvent-free. UV powder coatings produce a durable finish that seals in formaldehydes and allows MDF products to meet CARB emissions standards. The presentation provides examples of MDF applications that benefit from UV powder coating and concludes it is a high-speed, high-quality, and environmentally friendly finishing option.
Environmental and economic guidelines and regulations strive to minimize the consumption of water and energy and the production of solid and liquid wastes from all kinds of industries worldwide. The automotive industry plays a particular role in this, as spray paint booth facilities are used to provide exterior and interior parts with the necessary coating. During this process there is always a certain amount of paint overspray, which is washed away and sent to a waste water facility where the paint and coating particles are separated from the wash water. The better the separation of the particles and the water the lower the waste disposal and water costs, having a positive impact on the environment and on the financial aspects for customers. Kurita’s proprietary and innovative product range Kuristuck is able to achieve excellent performance for water- and solvent born paints resulting in reduced costs and reduced environmental impact. Kurita’s worldwide and long experience has contributed significantly to the development of these innovative technologies and we continue to develop these new technologies continuously at our R&D centers in Japan and Germany.

Accounting and reporting avoided emissions along the value chainLeonardo ENERGY
http://www.leonardo-energy.org/webinar/accounting-and-reporting-avoided-emissions-along-value-chain
Companies want to go beyond emission reductions in their own operation facilities and supply chains, by designing products that reduce emissions at downstream customers. A fuel efficient tire, for example, reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions when driving a car. Such emission reductions are also called “avoided emissions”. Despite the opportunities, companies face challenges when introducing their innovative products to the market. The International Council of Chemical Associations and World Business Council for Sustainable Development commissioned Ecofys to write guidelines for accounting for and reporting greenhouse gas emissions avoided along the value chain of chemical products. The guidelines provide a global standard methodology and are a worldwide example on how to calculate and communicate the GHG benefits of products.

From Hope to Despair: The Top 10 Reasons Businesses Ditch SEO Tactics
Are you tired of seeing your business's online visibility plummet from hope to despair? When it comes to SEO tactics, many businesses find themselves grappling with challenges that lead them to abandon their strategies altogether. In a digital landscape that's constantly evolving, staying on top of SEO best practices is crucial to maintaining a competitive edge.
In this blog, we delve deep into the top 10 reasons why businesses ditch SEO tactics, uncovering the pain points that may resonate with you:
1. Algorithm Changes: The ever-changing algorithms can leave businesses feeling like they're chasing a moving target. Search engines like Google frequently update their algorithms to improve user experience and provide more relevant search results. However, these updates can significantly impact your website's visibility and ranking if you're not prepared.
2. Lack of Results: Investing time and resources without seeing tangible results can be disheartening. The absence of immediate results often leads businesses to lose faith in their SEO strategies. It's important to remember that SEO is a long-term game that requires patience and consistent effort.
3. Technical Challenges: From site speed issues to complex metadata implementation, technical hurdles can be daunting. Overcoming these challenges is crucial for SEO success, as technical issues can hinder your website's performance and user experience.
4. Keyword Competition: Fierce competition for top keywords can make it hard to rank effectively. Businesses often struggle to find the right balance between targeting high-traffic keywords and finding less competitive, niche keywords that can still drive significant traffic.
5. Lack of Understanding of SEO Basics: Many businesses dive into the complex world of SEO without fully grasping the fundamental principles. This lack of understanding can lead to several issues:
Keyword Awareness: Failing to recognize the importance of keyword research and targeting the right keywords in content.
On-Page Optimization: Ignorance regarding crucial on-page elements such as meta tags, headers, and content structure.
Technical SEO Best Practices: Overlooking essential aspects like site speed, mobile responsiveness, and crawlability.
Backlinks: Not understanding the value of high-quality backlinks from reputable sources.
Analytics: Failing to track and analyze data prevents businesses from optimizing their SEO efforts effectively.
6. Unrealistic Expectations and Timeframe: Entrepreneurs often fall prey to the allure of quick fixes and overnight success. Unrealistic expectations can overshadow the reality of the time and effort needed to see tangible results in the highly competitive digital landscape. SEO is a long-term strategy, and setting realistic goals is crucial for success.

Solvent wiping mostly occurs in surface preparation
tasks.
Rag and Solvent Plunger
• Inherent danger of splashes, & uncontrolled dispensing
• High solvent emissions at the point of application to a cloth
• Cloth may become over or under saturated
• Motion waste occurs, by workers having to walk to the dispensing unit.
Solutions Customer May Use Today
Pre-saturated wipes:
• Ready made solution which does help reduce VOC emissions vs. the
plunger system
• No flexibility in degree of saturation
• No flexibility in type of chemical used, if more than 1 chemical is required

Chemical Immersions / Chemical splash
High potential for splash or immersion to
unexpected vapors, gases, or particulates that
are harmful to skin or capable of being absorbed
through the skin. Chemicals may be in the form
of solids, liquids or gases.
Ergonomic hazard
This relates to the importance for the operator to
benefit from the right “fit’ between the operators
and their work in order to avoid potential injuries
associated with manual handling procedures,
incorrectly designed workstations, and the lack
of colour coding control mechanisms.
Using chemicals
Solvents like MEK, IPA are highly volatile and
will evaporate at extremely low tempratures (<10
C). This can cause inhalation of high levels of
VOC resulting in loss of productivity due to
exhertion and can cause long term health issues.
Large Surface Treatment
Working on large surface areas such as fuselage
can be time consuming and need to have the
right level of supplies at point of use to maintain
production schedule and reduce ‘motion’ and
‘over processing’ wastes.
Physical hazard
This includes a wide range of injury risks such
as falling from heights and tripping on obstacles.
Working on a plane fuselage might require the
worker to work at a certain height and for an
operator on a car assembly line it might mean
that machinery will get in the way at times
therefore presenting a potential for hazard.
