The construction of the international transport corridor "Western Europe - Western China", also known as the new Silk Road, will be strategically important for Kazakhstan and Eurasia. It will reduce travel time between Western Europe and Western China to 10 days by replicating the route of the historic Silk Road through Kazakhstan. This corridor will provide opportunities for Kazakhstan's tourism industry to connect with markets in Europe and Asia. It is expected to boost regional economies along the route through increased trade and development of tourist infrastructure such as recreational and entertainment complexes.
