about hospitality Industry and also helped me to do
this project successfully.
WEL-COMING THE GUEST
Welcoming guest is very important because it
shows the respect towards the guest from the
hotel
Here's a standard greeting you could use.
Instead of a simple hello, you could also say good
morning, good afternoon or good evening
depending on the time of day the guest walks in.
You can ask your guest this simple question at
the beginning of their visit, or at any time during
their stay.
INDIAN STYLE OF WEL-COMING
• Tilak is a ritual mark on the forehead. It
can be put in many forms as a sign of
blessing, greeting or auspiciousness. The
Tilak is usually made out of a red vermilion
paste (kumkum) which is a mixture of
turmeric, alum, iodine, camphor etc. It can
also be made of a sandalwood paste
(chandan) blended with musk. The Tilak is
applied on the spot between the brows
which is considered the seat of latent
wisdom and mental concentration, and is
very important for worship.
WEL-COME DRINK
• Offer a drink. Once you've put
away your guest's belongings,
offer him or her a beverage,so
that he could relax for some
time.
FRONT OFFICE APPEARANCE
• FOA is a term once used to signify
that a person was attractive enough
to sit in an area where they would
be seen by the public. FOA stands
for Front Office Appearance. When
you interviewed with an agency,
they used to note the letters FOA or
NFOA (no front office appearance)
on your application
BELL DESK/CONCIERGE
• The Concierge staff and Bell
Desk team are often the first
point of contact and should
have good product knowledge
& a good knowledge of the city
and places of interest to give
clear
directions/recommendations to
the guests.
