Harvest Collegiate High School offers a rigorous academic program that engages students through authentic work, habits of heart and mind, and a variety of course offerings. The mission is to cultivate students' ability to produce and reflect on their learning. Students take challenging classes across core subjects and electives, and participate in extracurricular activities, musical instruction, and annual events. Support is provided through co-teaching, feedback, and a competency-based grading policy.

Harvest Collegiate High School offers a rich and
challenging intellectual education that engages
students in the natural process of experience,
questioning, the pursuit of precision, and reflection-
how people really learn.
We believe in cultivating students' power to produce
and reflect, rather than simply consume, as a
fundamental way of being in the world. We aspire to
being, and contributing creatively to, a 'sane society,'
one of peace, growth, and joy.

Habit of Evidence: How do I know what I know?
Habit of Connection: What does this connect and apply to?
Habit of Perspective: How does this look differently from someone else’s shoes?
Habit of Voice: Do I strive to understand others and to share my understanding?
Habit of Curiosity: Do I continually seek the “why” and “how”?
Habit of Responsibility: Did I take responsibility for others and myself?
Habit of Creative Contribution: Did I add something beautiful, beneficial, worthwhile?

4. Authentic Work
9th and 10th Graders
working on their Gateways
11th and 12th graders take classes culminating in Capstones–a
significant academic paper and presentation like a junior PhD
theses–in all four subjects (ELA, SS, Math, and Science) and their
performance is evaluated according to a rubric created by the
Performance Standards Consortium

study while the DOE requires 44 credits
to graduate–this is an equivalent of an
