Jim Trott shared a message about how different cultures view God based on his experiences traveling. He discussed three main world views: 1) a guilt and innocence culture that sees God as a lawgiver and judge who forgives through faith in Jesus; 2) a shame and honor culture that sees God as a father who restores honor through Jesus' sacrifice; 3) a fear and power culture that sees God as a ruler and deliverer who defeats dark forces and transfers believers to his kingdom through faith in Jesus. The newsletter also announced upcoming church events, volunteer opportunities, and financial updates.

"Seeing God in Three World Views"
Jim Trott shared the message today by talking about how different
cultures view God. He talked about some of his experiences in
different countries, and how their culture impacted how they lived,
worked together, responded to personal interactions, and saw God.
In a Guilt and Innocence Culture, people see God as Lawgiver and
Judge. We are all sinners. Only He is sinless and just. God forgives
those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus. We are saved by
faith as a gracious gift from God, not by our own merit.
In a Shame and Honor Culture, people see God as Father and Patron
who honors lowly mortals and humbles the falsely proud. He alone
stands about all things and beings. Those who give allegiance to Jesus
will receive a new status. Their shame is covered and honor restored
though His sacrifice.
In a Fear and Power Culture, God is seen as Ruler and
Deliverer. Dark forces exist, but God can protect all. He defeats
spiritual opposition and rules the world. People must turn from dark
powers and submit to Jesus as Lord. Believers are transferred from
2. the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light.
Regardless of the cultural bias, all believers know that "I can't but God
can".
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has
destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility"
