  1. 1. Weekly News from WCUMC-4/14/2013Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world. "Dont Be Afraid. Im the First and the Last" Revelation 1 A Heart Exam for the Church A Sermon Series on Christs Message to the Seven Churches (Revelation 1-3) “What the Church today needs, is a Heart Catheterization…” Anne Graham Lotz Church Awakening Conference March 8, 2013In Jesus’ address to the Seven Churches, He would give them a “HeartCatheterization” … so that they might see the “blockages” that wereobstructing the flow of the Holy Spirit through their lives and theirministry to the world. We need to look inside ourselves to see if something is blocking the flowof Gods spirit in our lives. The message from Revelation 1 is a message of hope and assurance. Thiswas not a vision that John dreamed up on his own, it was Christsmessage that He revealed to the the Church through John.
  2. 2. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. He is in control. Christs message is to the whole Church, in all parts of the world, throughout all time. Dont be afraid. Im the first and the last, and the living one. I was dead, but look! Now Im alive forever and always. When new life comes to the Church, the world will change. If we arefaithful disciples and followers of Christ, we have nothing to fear."I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, “who is, and whowas, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8Next Weeks MessageRevelation 2:1-7, "Youve Lost That Lovin Feeling"Pastor Rick Vinther preaching THIS WEEK AT WCUMCSunday - 4/14 Evening Prayer, 5:30 PM, Prayer RoomMonday - 4/15 "The WORD" Bible Study, 2:00 PM, Memorial Room. 4. 4. that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.Because of this, todays believers live very similarly to non-believers. Apersonal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our moneyand time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what lifesultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as apeople and a nation. To counter this slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family haslaunched one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the historyof our ministry - The Truth Project. The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 13one-hour lessons taught by Chris and Patti Ward. This study is thestarting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lessondiscusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living theChristian worldview in daily life.Classes will meet in Room 10 at 9:00 AM beginning April 21.
