This document discusses religious pluralism and objections to the view of particularism. It defines pluralism as the view that there are multiple ways to God, while particularism asserts that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. It then considers several objections to particularism, such as it being arrogant or unfair that non-Christians would be condemned to hell. In response, it argues that God is just in his judgment and that no one deserves salvation, focusing on the idea that God has created an optimal world where some are saved and some are lost in accordance with their free will.

Who is God? what is God’s appearance today? Is it God’s word, is it the Bible? But how do we view God’s word? Is it the same as looking at what the world says?
Let’s study from the Bible, how God’s role is in the world today. We can know that if there is no God’s word, we cannot be born or live in this world. God’s word is the criterion of our life, and how we should use God’s word Lead into our lives, from individuals to groups, and finally to the world, let us lift up the word of God and illuminate this dark world

Chinese people often say that it is necessary to cultivate one’s body and one’s family to govern the country , then, conquer the world. But is that so in the kingdom of God? If so, then what should be different? Why does God say that you are a friend of the world and that you are an enemy of me? So a concept that seems easy to understand is a trap that is easy to fall into. So when we apply it to the church, how should we do it, then what is the standard, whether we will be deceived by the surface illusion, and did not choose disciples who fit God’s will to manage the church

Was Jesus' death for only certain ones? Did Jesus die for all people? Or, did He die only for certain pre-elected lucky ones? What does the Bible really say?
A short sermon on who God is and His characteristic. We touch on the 3 Omnis, God in (mercy & grace, love, worthy)
And finally we end with a discussion on how do we respond to God.
Don't waste your times of suffering. Suffering has the power to change us into our true identity as followers of a suffering Messiah who "learned obedience by the things which he suffered." (Hebrews 5:8) Here are some lessons I have learned about times of suffering.

As we had mentioned before that what God wants us to do is what we can do, but we live in a world controlled by the devil, so we will be brainwashed and like to do things that we can’t do. Then, we will be trapped in a desperate mood, because these things are generally undefined, or humans can’t do it at all, but our energy is spent on whether we achieve it, and we don’t calm down and think about what God has said. And exactly what God wants us to do, this is the focus of this chapter

Many of God’s words, if we have seen by the worldly view, we will feel that God is easy on us. Because He has no requirement on us. He is a good gentleman. He is our Santa Claus and our fireman on call. This have caused great obstacles to becoming disciples. Because God’s standards are very reasonable, from the world’s perspective. This chapter will analyze this content carefully, and at the same time let We know that God is very fair and cannot be ignored

Those arguments included the cosmological, teleological, moral law, prophecy, and heart-wired.

When we walk the spiritual path, the first thing is to be sanctified, that is, to be separated from the world. This does not mean that we have to leave this world immediately, but that although we are in the world, everything we do, what we say, is representing God. And we can always remain unbiased in God’s truth, and at the same time continue to thrive. This chapter will discuss this topic

Session 14 Old Testament Overview - Ecclesiastes & Song of SolomonJohn Brooks
Session 14 Old Testament Overview
Ecclesiastes & Song of Solomon
Based on material from:
Capitol Hill Baptist Church

Washington, DC 20002
The Bible is very clear as to what our purpose in this life should be. Men in both the Old and New Testaments sought for and discovered life’s purpose. Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, according to scripture, discovered the futility of life when it is lived only for this world. He gives these concluding remarks in the book of Ecclesiastes: 13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil”. - Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.
This is the first wisdom that we need to learn if we want to have a blessed (happy) life as a Christian.
This wisdom is an introduction to the entire book of Psalms.
And if we follow this course in our life through this year and beyond, it will lead us to happiness and reward.
Who do we trust the most, God or man? God's plan for us is simple and it includes, peace, joy, happiness, freedom, prosperity and life. Man's plan has none of those and if you do find any of those in this world, it will only be for a short period of time.
Few things are as fundamental to the abundant life Jesus came to give us than our continual commitment to being grateful in all circumstances. 1 Thessalonians 1:18 and Eph. 5:20 make it abundantly clear that God requires us to always gives thanks to Him no matter what happens because He has promised to make all things work together for good for us ( Rom. 8:28)!
Life outside of gratitude is a lie. Life outside of gratitude is poison to our soul. God will help us, but we must choose to give Him thanks as Job did in his great losses. We must allow God to be somewhat mysterious and trust Him no matter what evil befalls us. That is real faith.

This page will mention why the church has become secular. Let’s start with interpretation of the Great Commandment as an example to understand that doing so will lead to love of God, love of others. And how we cannot do our best in worldly, because of this error, it caused no churches obey GOD’s word, lost God’s blessings, and was assimilated by the world, and finally lost salvation.

The purpose of the Christian life is to become a true disciple, but if we want to enter the realm of Bible from the world. We can not carry a lot of the burden of the world and world’s thoughts. We cannot spread our wings because God has His uniqueness. If we want to be disciples of God is to know God’s will and follow God’s method. There is no other way, because He expresses it as the unique way, the truth, and life in the Bible. And there is no other way.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

3. PluralismPluralism
• remember that at that time you were separate
from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel
and foreigners to the covenants of the promise,
without hope and without God in the world.
– Ephesians 2:12.
4. PluralismPluralism
• All men are without excuse because God’s power
and existence are made plain in creation
– Romans 1:20
• God’s moral law is written on men’s hearts, so
that they are morally responsible for their
actions.
– Romans 2:15
5. PluralismPluralism
• People ignore God and float his moral law
– Romans 1:21-32.
• All men are under the power of sin.
– Romans 3:9-12.
• We can’t redeem ourselves through good works.
– Romans 3:19-20.
8. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• Arrogant and immoral for Christians to think
they are right and everyone else is wrong.
– Ad hominem.
9. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• You are just a Christian because you’re born in a
Christian country. If you were born somewhere
else you’d be a Muslim, Hindu, etc.
– Genetic Fallacy
10. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• Would a loving God send people to hell?
– God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell
– God wants everyone to be saved
• The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some
understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not
wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to
repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.
• [God] wants all people to be saved and to come to a
knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4.
11. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• Is the punishment too harsh? How can my sin
in this finite life lead me to deserve infinite
punishment?
– Every sin and all sins we commit
– Sinning in the afterlife
– Rejecting God deserves infinite punishment
12. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• What about those who haven’t heard the Gospel.
Is it fair that they go to hell?
– General revelation, creation, moral law
– Job, Melchizedek
• God “will repay each person according to what they have
done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory,
honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
– Romans 2:7
13. Objections to ParticularismObjections to Particularism
• What about someone who rejects general
revelation but who would have accepted Christ if
he or she had heard the Gospel? Why didn’t God
bring the Gospel to them?
14. More Objections to ParticularismMore Objections to Particularism
• Why did God create a world when He knew so
many people would not believe the Gospel and
be lost?
• Why didn’t God create a world where everyone
freely believes in the Gospel and is saved?
15. Getting to the Core of the ProblemGetting to the Core of the Problem
• Pluralist claims that the following claims
are inconsistent
1. God is all-powerful and all-loving
2. Some people never hear the Gospel and are lost.
16. Uncovering Hidden AssumptionsUncovering Hidden Assumptions
1. If God is all-powerful, He can create a world in which
everybody hears the Gospel and is freely saved.
2. If God is all-loving, He prefers a world in which
everybody hears the Gospel and is freely saved.
17. 3. If God is all-powerful, He can create a world in which
everybody hears the Gospel and is freely saved.
• But logically impossible to force someone to freely choose, so
God cannot create this world. So, 3 is not necessarily true.
Uncovering Hidden AssumptionsUncovering Hidden Assumptions
18. 4. If God is all-loving, He prefers a world in which
everybody hears the Gospel and is freely saved.
• But what if such a world would only contain 3 people? Should
God still prefer such a world?
Uncovering Hidden AssumptionsUncovering Hidden Assumptions
19. Initial ResponseInitial Response
• It’s possible that the actual world has the optimal
balance between people freely choosing to be
saved and people being lost.
• Discuss responses and ideas
20. Responding to another key challengeResponding to another key challenge
• Why would God create persons who will be lost,
but would have been saved if they had heard the
Gospel?
– But why think there are any such people? Couldn’t
God order the world so that those who heard the
Gospel were those who would accept it?
21. Consider this proposed responseConsider this proposed response
5. God has created a world that has a optimal
balance between saved and lost, and those who
never hear the Gospel and are lost would not
have believed in it even if they had heard it.
– So long as 5 is possibly true, there’s no inconsistency
with an all-loving, all-powerful God and some people
never hearing the Gospel and being lost.
22. Scriptural ClosingScriptural Closing
• The God who made the world and everything in it is the
Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples
built by human hands. And he is not served by human
hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives
everyone life and breath and everything else. From one
man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the
whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in
history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so
that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him
and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As
some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.
– Act 17: 24-28.
