R 1. To start the class, the teacher is going to
choose 3 famous people and the students
are going to try to guess who are they using
expressions to describe them.
2. The teacher is going to show the
students some flashcards and the students
are going to build a story taking into account
the information given on the flashcards

UPWhen we are talking about possession, relationships, illnesses and
characteristics of people or things we can use either have or have got. The have
got forms are more common in an informal style.

UPThe simple present tense in English is used to describe an action that is regular, true or
normal.
We use the present tense:
1. For repeated or regular actions in the present time period.
I take the train to the office.
The train to Berlin leaves every hour.
2. For facts.
A dog has four legs.
We come from Switzerland.
3. For habits.
I get up early every day.
They travel to their country house every weekend.
4. For things that are always / generally true.
It rains a lot in winter.
They speak English at work.

UPVerb Conjugation & Spelling
We form the present tense using the base form of the infinitive. For first and second
person the verb doesn’t change and in the third person we add 'S'
3rd person spelling:

• For all the other ways
in which a verb can
finish:

• For verbs that end in
a vowel + Y, we just
add -S.
play – plays
enjoy – enjoys
say – says
The verbs that finish in:
-O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -
X, or -Z
go – goes
catch – catches
wash – washes
kiss – kisses
fix – fixes
buzz – buzzes
For verbs that end in
a consonant + Y, we
remove the Y and add -
IES.

For first and second person the verb doesn’t change and in the third person we add 'S' 3rd person spelling: S ES IES • For all the other ways in which a verb can finish: Works Jumps Listens • For verbs that end in a vowel + Y, we just add -S. play – plays enjoy – enjoys say – says The verbs that finish in: -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, - X, or -Z go – goes catch – catches wash – washes kiss – kisses fix – fixes buzz – buzzes For verbs that end in a consonant + Y, we remove the Y and add - IES. marry – marries study – studies
