Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.

Activity 12- Think Alouds When we read, we often have a “conversation” in our head. Did you ever read something and think, “oh man!” or “that was weird!”?  As we read these Think Alouds, we’re going to practice this reading strategy.  Read page 111 Read about Petra  on page 112-113 See video
Think Aloud Continued Read letter from Kalapet- page 116 As you read, write your thoughts in the margin (you will receive points for this activity) Pair off Read  “Did animals Sense…” (page 117)  Write your names on a note card One person will record their thoughts on the card and “pass a note” to your partner. Your partner will read your note and write a response or add to your thoughts on the article.
