Esteemed colleagues; I stand before you today, in the House of Representatives, to be heard for the first time.
But I ask all of you not just to hear my message, but to truly listen!
I speak not for myself on this day, but for those of my electorate and the greater community.
The unheard voices. The tired, the weary, and the beaten.
Those that have suffered in silence and lost their voice. For them, I am their microphone.
I will stand and say to all who are present here, we need change!

Before taking this role I was in Los Angeles where I had witnessed poverty, the likes of which I had never seen.
I saw streets littered with homeless, literally being stepped over without hesitation.
And I thought to myself, how? How could our northern neighbours allow this?
When I returned home to sunny Queensland, I had arrived to witness the introduction of lockout laws state-wide.
A law voted in by the members of this parliament without the consideration of the people it represents!
They want change! Let us not continue to simply step over the great people of our state.

Because the people of this state deserve better; they deserve to be heard!
They will not take it sitting, nor will they take it standing, they will step right through those doors, and march you
out on to the street!
If we, the privileged members of this house, do not perform our public duty; enjoy this scenery while you are able.
A government that works for its people, is a government that works!
5. Source: Band-Aid
The current plan is nothing more than a Band-Aid remedy Ms. Palaszczuk has put on the knee of society.
The issues of drinking and violence are not skin deep, but are instead ingrained in this society.
Immigration is a national issue, but has stopping the boats solved the problem?
No! It has simply moved the issue, because out of sight out of mind right?
Wrong! This is just blanketing the problem, hurting business owners and victims of alcohol related incidents in
the process.
