The database management system, used as the backbone of the system,
is Sybase Adaptive server, whereas client use SQL anywhere. There are
replication between the server at HQ and the client’s branches.
Throughout the replication, branches data is sent to server and
aggregated to create most update database version, and then send back
to the branches. This means every branches have the most recent version
of client list, truck’s availability, and new shipping contracts so that any
customer is able to deal with any branch at anytime.

•Before the implementation of the computerized system, the struggle of
the company was that it was difficult or impossible to properly handle
and control the endless number of daily work options and orders related
to the business operations at a perfect level of service.
AFTER …
•This problem was overcome only when the shipping information system
was deployed. The work that was previously done manually was being
included in the system. The accuracy, speed and reliability of the
workload greatly increased and this helped the company address it
business needs and information requirements.
