Strength training is most effective when it stimulates muscles with maximum intensity through a full range of motion without cheating or using momentum. This is achieved through high intensity repetitions that take several seconds and holding the contraction. Adequate rest between workouts, around a week, is also important to allow muscles to fully recover and rebuild stronger. This maximum stimulation and rest approach to strength training is faster, safer and more effective than conventional methods, and can stimulate the entire body in just 30-60 minutes per week.

The (Ultimate) Guide for Marketplace AnalyticsWilly Braun
We divided the guide in 2 parts: (1) marketplace dynamics, where we try to grasp the overall picture, (2) marketplace KPIs, where we make a snapshot of the different parts of the business and look at them overtime.
And as a super bonus, we’ve prepared an open-source dashboard (Google Spreadsheet) to structure your activity.
The document provides guidance for organizing an art exhibition, including establishing objectives, setting a calendar, allowing public input, handling finances, curating artwork, promoting the event, and securing a venue and sponsorships. It emphasizes starting the planning process early to confirm details and meet deadlines, and promoting through websites, blogs, print publications, and online listings.

10 wisdom pills from The Next Web ConferencesAgustín Soriano
The document presents 10 "wisdom pills" or short pieces of strategic advice from the JWT Amsterdam Planning Department. Each pill is 1-3 sentences focusing on a different topic related to technology, marketing, or business strategy. For example, pill #1 discusses how companies like Duolingo and reCAPTCHA harness human power by translating texts or digitizing books. Pill #3 advises that the focus should be on user experiences rather than just product features. The final slides thank the audience and provide contact information for the presentation designers.
We’ve been talking about virtual for a long time, but what was once a popular theme for Science Fiction is now a reality. Today, we see more and more traditional career events – job fairs, career fairs and open houses – being moved to the online space.
In this webinar:
* We will examine some of the virtual formats that have been used in the past and are currently being utilized by top companies and media outlets alike
* We will discuss hybrid (physical and virtual) fairs
* We will also look at the future for virtual career fairs
* We will highlight the different features that can be found at these innovative events
The career fair has always been an ideal opportunity for candidates and employers to meet, exchange ideas, information and to discuss opportunities.
We’ll look at how these virtual fairs endeavor to embody all of these integral aspects of the traditional career fair while providing an augmented experience – for candidate and employer alike – compliments of modern technology.
Building a Community with Social Media and Web 2.0 - Part IILaSandra Brill
The document describes Cisco's marketing strategy for launching its ASR 1000 router using a virtual, viral, and visual approach on social media and the web. The strategy included generating pre-launch buzz through videos, games, and communities on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Second Life. It also highlighted registering for an online launch event to announce the new product globally at a much lower cost than previous physical launches. The strategy was seen as highly successful with large online and global reach, and became a new model for Cisco product launches.

The document discusses open social networks and how to make money through them. It outlines that everyone will use social networks, and members use them for communication. It then discusses how to monetize social networks by creating currency and exchanging value through good content, building links and brands, and exchanging the created value for money. However, it also notes challenges in monetizing social networks like low click-through rates, too many players crowding the market, privacy concerns, and potential fatigue from overuse.

QR Secure: A Hybrid Approach Using Machine Learning and Security Validation Functions to Prevent Interaction with Malicious QR Codes.
Aim of the Study: The goal of this research was to develop a robust hybrid approach for identifying malicious and insecure URLs derived from QR codes, ensuring safe interactions.
This is achieved through:
Machine Learning Model: Predicts the likelihood of a URL being malicious.
Security Validation Functions: Ensures the derived URL has a valid certificate and proper URL format.
This innovative blend of technology aims to enhance cybersecurity measures and protect users from potential threats hidden within QR codes 🖥 🔒
This study was my first introduction to using ML which has shown me the immense potential of ML in creating more secure digital environments!
[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.
Getting the Most Out of ScyllaDB Monitoring: ShareChat's TipsScyllaDB
ScyllaDB monitoring provides a lot of useful information. But sometimes it’s not easy to find the root of the problem if something is wrong or even estimate the remaining capacity by the load on the cluster. This talk shares our team's practical tips on: 1) How to find the root of the problem by metrics if ScyllaDB is slow 2) How to interpret the load and plan capacity for the future 3) Compaction strategies and how to choose the right one 4) Important metrics which aren’t available in the default monitoring setup.
From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.

How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
