This document discusses ways to infuse problem gambling prevention into existing substance abuse prevention efforts. It notes that risk and protective factors are similar for addictive behaviors like alcohol, tobacco, drugs and problem gambling. The document provides examples of how to infuse problem gambling prevention into the CSAP prevention strategies of information dissemination, education, alternative activities, community processes, and environmental approaches. It also discusses how to include problem gambling in implementing the strategic prevention framework through assessment, capacity building, planning, implementation and evaluation. Resources for problem gambling prevention are provided. Next steps discussed include individual technical assistance, webinars on new products, and the upcoming national problem gambling conference.
