Analysis Of Hippotherapy Outcome Measureslacygardner
This paper describes the use of hippotherapy with children who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It details the rationale, frames of references and a review of the literature. Furthermore, descriptions of a capstone project are provided on the investigation of hippotherapy outcome measures being used by current occupational therapists. Five hippotherapy sites were visited and at least one full day of sessions was observed at each. Occupational therapists were also interviewed about current practices. Findings support the use of non-standardized testing for measuring outcomes of children with ASD. Also noted are the various methods for delivering hippotherapy services.

Introduction
Since the release of the 2008 APRN Consensus
Model: Licensure, Accreditation, Certification,
and Education, the nurse practitioner (NP)
community has been undertaking efforts to
ensure congruence with the model. Within
education, NP programs have focused on
changes to align educational tracks with the
NP populations delineated in the model.
National organizations have supported
these efforts through collaborative work on
the NP competencies that guide curriculum
development. In 2011, a multi-organizational
task force embarked on the challenge to
identify competencies for many of the NP
population foci: Family/Across the Lifespan,
Neonatal, Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric
Primary Care, Psychiatric-Mental Health, and
Women’s Health/Gender-Related. Although
there had previously been developed adult-
gerontology competencies in acute care and
primary care, those competencies were set
within a previous framework of domains.
This document presents the updated adult-
gerontology acute care and primary care NP
competencies within the same framework as
the other population-foci NP competencies
document. These competencies explicate the
unique characteristics and role of the adult-
gerontology population focus in acute care and
primary care and are designed to augment the
NP core competencies.
Background
The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner
Faculties (NONPF) released the first set of core
competencies for all nurse practitioners in 1990
and subsequently has revised them in 1995,
2000, 2002, 2006, 2011, and 2012. Recognizing
the need to give NP programs further guidance
in an area of focus, NONPF, in collaboration
with the Am.
This Hospital Skills Program (HSP) module has been developed to support the professional development of doctors working in a hospital generalist role in NSW hospitals.
Doctors participating in the HSP will have at least two years of clinical postgraduate experience and not be currently participating in a specialist vocational training program.
This HSP module has been developed by CETI on behalf of NSW Health as part of the Hospital Skills Program for generalist doctors. It aims to guide doctors, their employers and educators with regard to learning and professional development needs, workplace responsibilities and clinical tasks.
This module is one of several that have been developed by CETI to support the implementation of the HSP.
overview-The term Nursing Process was defined by 'Hall' in 1955.
Yura and Walsh in 1967 proposed four components for nursing process ie. assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The American Nurses Association (ANA) proposed five components adding "Nursing Diagnosis" as the second component.
In 1982 the recommendations of NANDA (North American Nursing Diagnosis Association) was accepted widely..
Definition-Nursing process is a systematic and rational method of identifying health care needs, planning and providing nursing care.
It provides a logical frame work on which the nursing care is based.
Purposes-To identify a client’s health status & actual or potential health care problems or needs.
To establish plans to meet the identified needs.
To deliver specific nursing interventions to meet those needs.
Descriptions-The nursing process is a systematic method that directs the nurse and patient as together they accomplish the following:
Systematically collect patient data (assessing)
Clearly identify patient strengths, actual and potential problems (diagnosing)
Characteristics-Various words and phrases have been used to describe the nursing process.
Key descriptors include systematic, dynamic, interpersonal, outcome oriented, and universally applicable.
Problem solving & nursing process-One of the strengths of the nursing process is that it is based on a methodology that is familiar to most nursing students problem solving.
Problem-solving is a basic life skill; iden- tifying a problem and then taking steps to resolve it are a matter of common sense. However, different approaches to problem-solving yield different results, some of which are more successful than others.
Advantages-It is systematic and has an orderly sequence
Encourages nurses to work together to achieve a common goal
Helps to identify the patient's health care status and actual or potential health problems.
Helps to identify nursing priorities and help direct nursing interventions based on identified priorities
Provides continuity of care
Identifies the needs and helps to plan the specific interventions to provide quality care.
Advantages to nurses-Provides consistent and systematic nursing education
Provides a common language and forms a basis for communication and understanding between nursing professionals and the healthcare team
Job satisfaction to nurses
Legal safety
Improves professional growth
"Nursing is based on an art and science that mould the attitudes, intellectual competencies, and technical skills of the individual nurse into the desire and ability to help people, sick or well, cope with their health needs." – Abdellah

Health Education on prevention of hypertensionRadhika kulvi
Hypertension is a chronic condition of concern due to its role in the causation of coronary heart diseases. Hypertension is a worldwide epidemic and important risk factor for coronary artery disease, stroke and renal diseases. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels and is sufficient to maintain tissue perfusion during activity and rest. Hypertension is sustained elevation of BP. In adults, HTN exists when systolic blood pressure is equal to or greater than 140mmHg or diastolic BP is equal to or greater than 90mmHg. The
COVID-19 PCR tests remain a critical component of safe and responsible travel in 2024. They ensure compliance with international travel regulations, help detect and control the spread of new variants, protect vulnerable populations, and provide peace of mind. As we continue to navigate the complexities of global travel during the pandemic, PCR testing stands as a key measure to keep everyone safe and healthy. Whether you are planning a business trip, a family vacation, or an international adventure, incorporating PCR testing into your travel plans is a prudent and necessary step. The term cognition generally refers to the product of many integrated processes carried out by the brain
that allow humans to be aware, think, learn, judge, plan, and execute behavior (National Institutes of
Health [NIH]).
The term cognitive rehabilitation generally describes a multidisciplinary field and the application of
“therapeutic interventions designed to improve cognitive functioning and participation in activities that
may be affected by difficulties in one or more cognitive domains” (Brain InjuryAssociation of America,
n.d., p. 1).

TYPES OF MEMORY
STRATEGY
TRAINING
ASSOCIATION TECHNIQUES
One of the most common
strategies, where two or more
items to be learned are linked
or associated together.
Visual-verbal and visual
imagery have been used to
learn and recall people’s
names.
Visual imagery has been
demonstrated to assist with
the delayed recall of everyday
relevant verbal material such
as stories and appointments.
ORGANIZATIONAL TECHNIQUES
One of the most frequently
used organizational
techniques is to use the first
letter of each of a series of
words to form a single word
or pseudo-word, simplifying
the storage and retrieval of
the information represented
by that word.
Patient can also be taught to
use semantic clustering
strategies to group
information into clusters in
order to enhance encoding
and retrieval.
Example: a patient may use
verbal clustering to remember
shopping items in each
section of a grocery store. To
purchase eggs, lettuce, milk,
pancake mix, butter,
hamburger, blueberries, and
onion, the patient may use
the categories “fruits and
vegetables,” and “ingredients
to make pancakes,” as the
“clusters” of items.
