The students propose actions for their school to become more environmentally friendly as part of the Local Agenda 21 program. They have already implemented some green initiatives like using reusable sandwich wrappers instead of foil and planting classroom plants. To further their efforts, the students suggest adding recycling bins for plastic and cartons, installing eco-flush toilets to save water, and switching to energy saving light bulbs. The overall goal is for the school to reduce its environmental impact as part of the global sustainability movement begun at the 1992 Earth Summit.

2. LOCAL AGENDA 21
In 1992 there was a conference in Rio de
Janeiro where more than 100 countries
met. This project was called: Local Agenda
21. They talked about the problems and
solutions to the enviroment.

3. AGENDA 21 IN OUR
SCHOOL
Our school joined Agenda 21 three
years ago. Our project is about
actions that bring us closer to
being a “Green School”. In our
school there is a group of students
who explain our ideas to other
schools and to our classmates.

4. WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY
DONE
- Boc'N Roll is a
wrapping for the
sandwiches and we use
this for replacing the
foil.

5. - In each class we have three different
plants which we planted ourselves and we
have to take care of them.

6. -In some classes we have recycling
containers. We have one in the
corridor, it's for paper.

7. WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN
THE FUTURE
- It could be a good
idea to have a bin for
plastic and cartons of
juice.

8. - In the toilets we should have an eco-
flush to save water.
