supervised by appointed Faculty and Industry
Supervisor.
Student will do FYP based on the given
research project and need to complete within 9
months.

Company Identification Faculty will short-listed potential company based on history of internship recruitment/signed MoU/MoA/research collaboration; OR Company is interested and eligible to participate upon early discussion Pre- Engagement Briefing on WBL and discussion including internship placement, research project, matching grant, double tax deduction (DTD), letter of commitment (LoC), MoU/MoAsigning Student Learning Student will register the WBL program and confirm the placement at the company. Student will undergo the WBLwithin 1 year. FinalYear Project Student will be given a research project that related in solving industry problem and supervised by appointed Faculty and Industry Supervisor. Student will do FYP based on the given research project and need to complete within 9 months. Collaboration Agreement Once the company agreed, following actions are needed: 1) MoAsigning 2) Industry supervisor appointment 3) Matching grant application 4) DTD application 5) Hiring an intern(s) How to Get Involved in the WBL? For Engineering Programmes Career Placement Student will be hired as a worker in the company based on the student’s commitment and performance that satisfied by the company **(subject to company’s consideration)

  • 10. DOUBLE TAX DEDUCTION (DTD) TYPE I Work-Based Learning (WBL) ENDORSED BY TALENTCORP TYPE II INDUSTRY FUNDING FOR RESEARCH PROJECT VIA RMC UTHM TYPE III INDUSTRY FUNDING FOR RESEARCH PROJECT IN WHICH STUDENT ALLOWANCE INCLUDE IN VIA RMC UTHM

DTD – TYPE I Eligible to claim for Double Tax Deduction for monthly allowance paid On full amount of allowance paid during internship Example : Min RM500 per month x 12 months x 1 (number of interns) Eligible to claim for Double Tax Deduction on Training Expenses The expenditure incurred for the provision of training for the students Letter of Endorsement (LOE) A letter from TalentCorp confirming that the internship programme conducted is validated and approved to be submitted to Inland Revenue Board Malaysia for tax claim per assessment year Eligible to claim for Double Tax Deduction on Other Relevant Costs On other allowances (MEAL, TRAVELLING & ACCOMODATION) paid during the WBL programme 1 2 3 4 Incentives for WBL Endorsed Companies
