The WA Young Readers' Book Award (WAYRBA) is a statewide readers' choice award for young readers in Western Australia. It was established in 1979 to promote reading and recognize excellence in children's literature. WAYRBA operates on two levels for younger and older readers. Students can nominate books to the annual reading lists. Throughout the year they vote for their favorite books and authors. Winning authors receive trophies at celebrations that recognize the best in Australian children's literature.
