WAVES
Waves are disturbances that travel
through matter or space. There are two
types of waves the mechanical waves
and electromagnetic waves.
MECHANICAL WAVES
O Seismic waves travel through the
groundwater ripples and tsunami travel
through water . sound travel trough
solid, liqud, gas.common to all of these is
that they require a medium in order to
travel.As such, they considered as
mechanical waves.
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
The waves that travel through space and do
not require a medium are classified as
electromagnetic waves. Examples of these
are radio waves ,microwave , infrared
,visible light , ultraviolet ray ,X ray, and
gamma ray.
Trasverse wave
O A mechanical wave where in the direction
of particle displacement is perpendicular
to the direction of wave propagation.
O A mechanical wave wherein the direction
of particle displacement is parallel to the
direction of wave propagation.
LONGITUDINAL WAVES
