problems of overgrazing and large scale denudation
Problem
Shortage of water in watershed and droughts occur frequently.
Remedies
Improve socioeconomic condition of people
Reduce peoples dependence on hills
Reverse process of environmental degradation
Improve soil and water conservation measures on watershed basis.

characteristics of fluivate deposit of torrential stream and floods in shallow basin.
9. Soil & Water conservation measures
The measure recommended include storage reservoirs and water conveyance
system at suitable site and mechanical measure at highly vulnerable location
to check the flow of huge sediment
It comprises construction of staggered contour trenches , gabion structures
and stone check dams.
18. Dryland agriculture- Maize-Gram; Maize-Taramira ;
Fallow-Wheat; Groundnut-Gram; Arhar-Gram crop rotation
are recommended for dryland

Due to shortage of fuelwood farmer are encouraged to raise fast growing species
like Eucalyptus hybrid will provide fuel after 8 to 10 years.
Control of gully erosion- For this a series of stone checkdams are constructed
