This document discusses water safety and drowning prevention. It summarizes lessons learned from public pools, including risk factors and proper supervision, and private backyard pools, where supervision and protection layers often fail. When a pool is in use, active supervision like a lifeguard is recommended; when not in use, multiple protection layers should secure the pool similarly to a public pool. Community outreach aims to educate parents and pool owners on these strategies through agencies, media, and programs.
As per Department of Transportation data, summer is the most dangerous driving season where most of the breakdowns happen on road. Study says, 18% more accidents happen in summer months as compared to the winter. And the reason for these mishaps is pretty obvious. Schools remain closed this time and children want to explore new places. And parents can deny it! But as a parent, you must ensure safety first while traveling with your own vehicle. Here's the list of useful tips that are complied together in this slide. So, enlighten yourself and stay safe.
Want to keep safe from all of your trips? Or want to keep track on your personal safety as a driver? Well, driving safely is a complex and sometimes a demanding task even for professional drivers.
To help you out on getting away with this possibilities and improve your personal safety as a driver, here are the driving tips that you will surely take time to read.
This presentation is from the National Center for Campus Public Safety’s webinar, Planning for the Safety of Minors: Routine and Emergency Situations. Anne H. Franke, president of Wise Results, LLC, brings attention to an issue that often goes unnoticed. Look around campus and you’ll notice lots of kids. They come without parents, particularly during the summer, to attend camps and academic enrichment programs. Many colleges and universities run year-round tutoring, both on- and off-campus, K-12 school partnerships, and other programs. Most institutions develop their safety and emergency protocols to meet the needs of college students and adult visitors. This webinar explores key questions surrounding the safety of minors on campus and provides practical options for resolving them.

Understanding and improving community flood preparedness and responseNeil Dufty
Presentation outlining innovative social research that identifies underlying causes of community flood preparedness and response, and what can be done to improve preparedness and response levels. The research was conducted in the Wimmera region of Australia but the research framework and methodology could be used anywhere in the world, and for any hazard.
In this Campus Public Safety Online webinar, Jill Weisensel, a night shift operations lieutenant for the Marquette University Police Department, discusses best practices in bystander intervention programming for colleges and universities, the role of broad-based programming in crime prevention, and the value of campus-wide collaboration. She focuses on the "how-tos" of safe intervention, concentrating specifically on persuasion-based communication tactics, proxemic management, personal safety/awareness and risk reduction. Additionally, Jill emphasizes the importance of civility and personal responsibility without victim blaming. Attendees are provided an overview of personal safety-based bystander intervention curriculum and immediately actionable content that can be added to their current bystander intervention programming.

closing/self-latching and alarmed
• Power operated pool covers be properly maintained
• Keep phone at poolside for emergency use
• Learn CPR
• Keep lifesaving ring and shepherd’s hook in pool area &
know how to use it
• Do not consider children “drownproof” because they have
had swimming lessons
15
