The Raheja Eternity Housing Society initiated several energy conservation and renewable energy projects from December 2016 to September 2017 to reduce their high energy consumption and bills. They replaced over 600 lights with LED bulbs, installed 55 motion sensors, and implemented a two-phase rooftop solar system totaling 81.5 kW. These measures reduced their monthly energy consumption by 74% from 25,900 to 6,800 units and lowered their energy bill by 94% from Rs. 3,59,280 to Rs. 20,000. The projects also decreased their CO2 emissions by 66% and contributed to a 78% reduction in monthly maintenance fees.

4. Introduction
Salient Features (cont…)
▪ On the month of Society Formation, the monthly maintenance charge was Rs.
18000/-.
• It was in fact extremely high.
• On examining, found the high cost of maintenance was due to the combination
of various factors.
• One of the them found was on:
• Very High Energy Consumption at more than 25000 units/month
• As a result, Very High Energy Bill at more than Rs. 3,60,000/- per month
To control this energy factor, Immediate Initiatives on Energy Conservation and
Renewal Energy Generation was initiated .

6. Wholesomeness of the Initiatives
• Initiatives taken that resulted in following fruitful results:
• As on date the energy scenario is:
• Energy consumption came down from 25900 to 6800
units/month
• Energy bill came down from Rs. 3,59,280/- to Rs. 20,000/- per
month
