Warli paintings are a traditional art form of the indigenous Warli tribe of Maharashtra, India, characterized by geometric patterns and depictions of social life painted in white on mud walls using rice paste. Some of the most prominent Warli artists include Jivya Soma Mhase, who helped bring international recognition to Warli paintings after exhibiting in Mumbai in 1976 and winning the Padma Shri award in 2011.
