In early 2015, 1000 new shrubs and 250 new trees will be planted around the Kellogg Creek Water Pollution Control Plant to beautify the landscape. To make way for the new plantings, 60 trees in poor health and many shrubs will be removed. Tree removal was postponed due to the arrival of an unexpected migratory Black-and-White Warbler. To allow bird watchers to view the rare bird, tree removal was delayed until the following week and will proceed clockwise to give the bird a chance to move on. Safety precautions will be in place during tree removal work.

In early 2015, in advance of the bird breeding season,
1000 new shrubs and 250 new trees will be planted
around the Kellogg Creek Water Pollution Control Plant.
Tree Removal
To make way for the new plantings, 60 trees, most of which
are in poor health or dying, as well as many of the shrubs along
the McLoughlin Boulevard-facing fence will be removed.
Black-and-White Warbler
Tree removal was to begin the week of Jan. 12. Due to the arrival of an unexpected migratory bird,
the Black-and-White Warbler, that was postponed.The avian traveler, from northern and eastern
North America, is off-track and has garnered much public attention and interest.
Schedule
To allow time for bird enthusiasts to view the bird, tree removal was delayed until the week of Jan.
19. At that time, designated trees on the northeast corner of the property will be removed.
Tree removal will now proceed clockwise and conclude at the western border to offer the bird a
chance to move on.

Please be aware that crews will be working throughout in the area and there will be falling trees.
