3. FINAL YEAR PROJECT
Mobile Rescue Robot (Based on Altera ® FPGA)
Objective of this project was to design and fabricate a robot that can be used for rescue operations .It has
an autonomous self-invert feature which makes it different from other mobile robots (based on sensors).
Audio video feed back can be taken on the control panel (wireless communication) which helps to
communicate with victim.
SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS
Four Stroke IC Engine
Design and Fabricated cross sectional view of Four Stroke IC (Internal Combustion) Engine. Control of
timing valve was replaced by servo motors
Over Hauling of Four Stroke IC engine
Performed Overhauling of an IC Engine involves removal and installation of piston rings, bearings,
gaskets, oil seals
Maze solving robot
Designed and fabricated Maze Solving mobile robot to compete in NERC. The robot used infra-red (IR)
proximity sensors to detect the walls of the maze and navigate through it. Color sensor at the front,
allowing it to differentiate between boxes of different color’s, and was controlled using a Microchip
PIC18F452 Microcontroller
Walking Robot
Designed and fabricated Robot to compete in inter department Walking Robot Contest 2011 organized by
Mechatronics Department, Air university, Pakistan
Control of Brushless D.C Motor with Hall Effect sensors
Speed control through controller (Microchip PIC16F877) was the main aim of this project
Machine vision and Artificial Intelligence project
Camera based automated goal keeping platform. Ball is being detected by the camera and feed is shown
at the computer screen by using Mat lab®. A command is given to the Servo motor and keeper acts at the
time when ball is in front of it. This programming is done on the basis of the time and speed data
acquisition calculated on random experiments, using AVR Microcontroller (Arduino Uno)
Digital Clock
Developed Digital Clock that displays time digitally with feature of Alarm system.
