The document discusses witnessed presence in networked wearables. It provides background on the growing field of wearable electronics and its potential to reinvent human connection and address modern disconnection. The document presents a case study of the wearable device BOND, which uses touch interactions to enhance witnessed presence between intimate partners. Research was conducted through desk research, an internship with BOND's creators, interviews with designers, and analysis of how BOND's interactions map onto a framework for witnessed presence. Key findings include that wearables can act as technological extensions of the human, and that BOND's discreet touch interactions may facilitate a "quantum of witnessed presence" between users.

This study investigated the effectiveness of a cloud physical activity promotion system (CPAPS) on increasing moderate physical activity time (MPAT) among high school female students in Taiwan. A quasi-experimental study assigned 62 10th grade female students to either an intervention or control group. The intervention group received training on and used the CPAPS for 13 weeks, while the control group did not use CPAPS. Results showed no differences in physical activity levels between the groups before the intervention. After 13 weeks, the intervention group saw an increase in MPAT to meet Taiwan's recommended weekly standard of 210 minutes, while the control group did not, showing the potential for CPAPS to increase physical activity among female high school students.
