Volleyball was created in 1895 by William Morgan and became an Olympic sport in 1964. A volleyball team consists of 6 players on each side of a net, with the objective to hit the ball into the other team's court before it touches the ground. Players can use any part of their body except the feet to return the ball over the net. The game is played on a rectangular court with dimensions of 18m x 9m and a variable height net between 2.24-2.43m depending on gender and age category.

3. History
The volleyball was created on February 9, 1895
by William George Morgan in the United States.
In 1947 was founded the International Volleyball
Federation (FIVB). Two years later he was made ​
the first Volleyball World Championship. At the
time there was only the men's event. In 1952, the
event was also extended to women's volleyball.
In 1964 volleyball became part of the program of
the Olympic Games, and remained until today.

4. Rules
Each volleyball team consists of 12 players: six effective
(being) and six alternates. In court, therefore, are two
teams of six players.
The teams are separated by a net in the middle of the
court. The game begins with one of the teams that
should serve. Soon after sacking the ball exceed the
network and follow the opponent's court where players
try to prevent the ball from entering his field using any
part of the body (before it was valid to use members
from the waist down, but the rules were changed ).
