Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six
players are separated by a net. Each team tries to
score points by grounding a ball on the other team's
court under organized rules. It has been a part of
the official program of the Summer Olympic Games
since 1964.
4. History:
The first name of this sport was “Mintonette” and was created by William G.
Morgan, on February 9, 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts (USA). It was a
game to play indoor and by any number of players. The game took some of its
characteristics from tennis and handball. William G. Morgan was a physical
education director and he based in his experiences to create this sport. The
teacher Halstead called this sport ``volleyball´´ for first time.
This sport was introduced in other countries through:
Elwood S. Brown in Filipinas.
J. Oward Crocker in China.
Frank H. Brown in Japón.
The doctor J. H. Gray in Birmania, China and India.

A volleyball team have six players:
Front players (situated ahead the
attack line)
Zagueros or defenders (situated
behind the attack line)
The players change their positions
for rotation, and the positions are
known by numbers ( 1,2,3,4,5 and 6)

Rafael Pascual.- (be born 16th Diana Sánchez Garijo.-
March 1970 in Madrid, Spain) was professional volleyball player. She
a Spanish volleyball player who was be born in Socuéllamos
won many titles throughout his (Ciudad Real) on January 28th,
career. When he returned to the 1977. Diana has been in Spanish
team two years after his Selection 28 times like a
retirement, he took part in the international player.
European Team Championship in
2007.
7. Spanish volleyball players:
Jose Luis Molto Carbonell.- he was
a professional
volleyball player, because he is
retired. He was born in
Alicante(29th, June,1975). He won
the gold medal in European
Championship versus Russia, and was
named the best blocker
in that tournament.
Susana Rodríguez.- (Barcelona,16th
August,1976). She has received some
individual awards, such as: Best
Player in Superliga 2000 and 2001,
Top Player 2000, Best Blocker, or
Best blocker in Queen´s cup in 2002.
In addition to this, she has been
convened to Spanish Selection in
more than 150 times.

9. Places:
The court have 18m long and 9m wide, with a ned in the middle , separating
the two teams. Moreover, have a free zone, witch are bigger in
international competitions. Three meters of the net, a line separates the
attack zone from defender zone. The ball can´t exit of the lines, but
players can do it. Volleyball can be play in the beach too.
