§ When building a telco, you really need loosely coupled software
- We’re re-engineering!
§ If we screw up the “remove call barring rule” button, what are the
impacts on the phone platform?
- Answer: We remove the global call barring rule and block all outbound calls for all
customers.
§ What if we do ? Rather than (?) when accessing a hashref in perl and it
picks the first element in the array (rather than last).
- Ans: You multiply the duration of a call for some customers by the database row
id, not the per minute value.
- This bug sat in our code base for years until one Sunday afternoon some one
made an £80k call to HMRC
