Brazil is the fifth largest country by both geography and population. It is home to most of the Amazon rainforest. As of 2010, Brazil had a population of over 193 million that had doubled since 1970. Brazilian culture derives mainly from Portuguese influence and is known for soccer, music, dancing, and Carnival celebrations. While soccer is the most popular sport, volleyball is also widely played and Brazil has had success in international competitions in both men's and women's volleyball. Brazil has also participated in winter Olympics since 1992.
