Responsible for the overall operation of a sixty-two-bed
JCAHO accredited for- profit psychiatric hospital owned by
Universal Health Services. Programs included inpatient,
partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs for adults,
adolescents and geriatric populations.
• Increased average daily census from 17 to 40 in that
time span

3. Responsible for the operation of a for-profit, JCAHO
accredited, comprehensive behavioral healthcare system
with a full continuum of services. Responsible for all
aspects of the system which included a sixty-bed acute
inpatient psychiatric hospital serving children, adults and
geriatric patients.
Partial hospitalization services, intensive outpatient services,
long-term day treatment, private alternative school and wrap
around services were also provided.

• Created alternative services to meet the needs of
Community Mental Health Centers
• Established 10 Bed Gero-psychiatric Unit.
Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare, Concord, NC

Responsible for the overall operation of a comprehensive
community mental health center serving a suburban
Charlotte county with a population of over one hundred
thousand. Services included mental health and substance
abuse programs for all populations including twenty four-
hour on-site emergency, outpatient, partial hospitalization,
intensive outpatient, family preservation, apartment program
and facility based residential crisis stabilization.

Responsible for the overall operation of the JCAHO
accredited behavioral services program which included a 26
bed inpatient Mental Health Unit, 16 bed geriatric care unit,
detox program, social work department and emergency
room psychiatric services.

Responsible for the overall operation and administration of a
comprehensive community mental health center serving a
two county area in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities included administration of outpatient and
partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents

programs. Additional duties included clinical supervision of
all programs, program planning, development and
evaluation.
Highlights included the following:
• Developed the first adolescent partial hospitalization program in
the area.
• Wrote the grant which secured funding for one of the first family
based mental health programs in the state
• Developed and implemented a student assistance program in all
eight school districts in the catchment area.
• Developed an aftercare program for children returning from
residential settings that was designated as a model program by
the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
• Developed clinical programming and secured licensure for a
dual-diagnosis, mental health, and substance abuse program for
children and adolescents.
