10. JUSTICE
we want to do justice, not simply
not do injustice; we want to join God
in seeing wrong things made right
in our city

12. JUSTICE
- Justice is not < mercy, but ≠ mercy
- Justice addresses the structures/systems
behind emergencies of present need
- Justice is active/intentional/tangible,
and is something we’re commanded to do;
it’s not a trendy, extra add-on based
on modern progressive ideology
- Justice ≠ gospel, but is a natural extension
of our present/future hope rooted in it

we love mercy, and look for

16. MERCY
- We are called to do this in/with love,
not reluctantly or begrudgingly
- Anyone is capable of extending mercy,
and everyone is worthy of receiving it
- Financial generosity is one way we
practice mercy, individually/communally
- This must be lived out thoughtfully
so we don’t unwittingly perpetuate injustice
while striving to be helpful

we try to walk in humble partnership
