Louis Riel: Hero or Villain? Essay
Louis Riel was one of the most controversial figures in Canadian history, and even to this day – more
than a century after his execution – he continues to be remembered. Many believed him to be a
villain; others saw him as a hero. So who was he really? Born in St. Boniface at the Red River
Settlement of Canada (present–day Winnipeg, Manitoba) on October 22, 1844, Louis Riel hoped one
day to follow his father's footsteps and become a great MГ©tis leader just like him. Eventually, Riel
was seen as a hero to the French–speaking MГ©tis. In the Canadian West, however, most people
regarded him as a villain due to his execution in 1885. Nevertheless, Louis Riel was not really a
villain by heart; only a flawed man who made many mistakes in his life....show more content...
Riel decided to help the MГ©tis out, hence became their main leader and spokesperson. He was
prepared to speak for the MГ©tis and defend their rights. Riel's education, speaking ability, and
father's history made him an obvious leader for his people. In time, Riel became deeply involved in
his struggle to improve the lives of the MГ©tis People, and he was eventually seen as a visionary to
them. He even spearheaded the MГ©tis into having two rebellions against the government.
Another thing that Louis Riel did in order to help the MГ©tis was lead the Red River Rebellion of
1869. Leading this rebellion against the government was one of the very few things which caused
Louis Riel to be seen as a villain. However, Riel's purpose was only to stand up for his people, not
to go against the government. An event that led up to this rebellion was when William McDougall
(appointed Lieutenant–governor of Northwest Territories) ordered a survey of the Red River
Settlement on September 1869. Riel declared that the land survey was a threat to his people. So
in October, the MГ©tis, led by Riel, managed to halt the Canadian surveyors and prevent them
from entering Red River. Afterward, Riel helped set up Le ComitГ© National des MГ©tis
(MГ©tis National Committee) prior to the rebellion. In early November, Riel led an armed revolt
and seized Fort Garry, which was the headquarters of the Hudson's Bay Company. When William
McDougall arrived at the fort, he found it blocked by

Romeo And Juliet Villain Essay
William Shakespeare's fictional tragedy "Romeo and Juliet" takes place during a civil war between
two families, the Montagues, and the Capulets, but that feud will end with a dreadful party of
deaths. Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet, saw each other and fell head over heels for each
other and got married by Friar Laurence, the local priest of the town. On the contrary, Tybalt
another Capulet, disagrees with this and considers Romeo a criminal. He has a grudge against
Romeo because Romeo snuck into the Capulet family party. When Tybalt is around, you know that
something bad is going to happen. Tybalt is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet
because of his arrogance, aggressiveness, and loyalty to his family.
From Act...show more content...
If the Capulet family were fighting in a war in biblical times, and someone had to face Goliath,
Tybalt would be the first one to volunteer, so that he can honor his family. He was a dog he would
truly be man's best friend. An example of his loyalty is when at the party, he wanted to get rid of
Romeo because it was a Capulet only party, "Tybalt– Uncle, there is a Montague, our foe; A villain,
that is hither come in spite To scorn at our solemnity this night. Capulet– Young Romeo, is it?
Tybalt–'Tis he, that villain Romeo. Capulet–Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone. He bears him
like an honest gentleman, And, to say truth, Verona brags of him To be a virtuous and well
–governed
youth. I would not for the wealth of all this town Here in my house do him disparagement.
Therefore be patient, take no note of him. It is my will; the which if thou respect, Show a fair
presence and put off these frowns, An ill–beseeming semblance for a feast. Tybalt–It fits when such a
villain is a guest. I'll not endure him. Capulet–He shall be endured. What, goodman boy? I say he
shall. Go to! Am I the master here, or you? Go to! You'll not endure him? God shall mend my soul!
You'll make a mutiny among my guests! You will set cock
–a–hoop! You'll be the man!" This quote
shows that Tybalt is loyal to his family even though Capulet says he is not to disturb Romeo. Even
his uncle insults him and he still comes back with another excuse to get rid of Romeo. Even though
that that part was early in the book, this still contributes to Romeo and Juliet's death because in the
act where Tybalt killsMercutio, Tybalt still has a grudge of getting revenge on Romeo for crashing
the Capulet party. Therefore because of his loyalty to the Capulet family Tybalt still has the grudge
and wants to fight Romeo but Mercutio stands up and defends Romeo. From there Romeo gets
angry at Tybalt for killing Mercutio, then kills Tybalt

Odysseus: Hero or Villain Essay
Lizeth Marin Honors Introduction to Literature Period 3 18 April 2008 Odysseus: Hero or Villain?
Heading home, to Ithaca, Odysseus is faced upon many obstacles that he and his men try to
overcome, but in the end substantiate that Odysseus is a villain. "The old soldier in despair: He has
spent ten years (seven of them as Calypso's not entirely unwillingly captive) trying to get home"
(652, summary). Evidence proves that Odysseus is a villain, because he tries to convince that he was
kept unwillingly by Calypso. However, it is true that Odysseus was kept as Calypso's captive for a
time. Yet he can still be judged as a villain, because he does not just stay as a prisoner, no, he
assists Calypso by being with her for the pleasures that...show more content...
Odysseus has no reason to save his men's lives but for his own convenience. Finally, Odysseus is
home and after a long journey in which he shows no heroic actions and yet proves to be nothing
but a villain, he once again proves throughout his actions that he is a villain. Odysseus is finally
home, on Ithaca, and is then helped by Athena and disguises himself as an old beggar. He proves
then to be a villain by seeking his revenge for the suitors and maidservants that once betray him
(696, summary). Another way in which Odysseus shows he is a villain is when he finally reunites
with his wife Penelope and reacts with rage when she tests him. This reveals Odysseus is a villain
because he reacts as if he was innocent and some way being betrayed by his own wife. Of course,
though, he never tells his loyal wife Penelope about his love affairs with Calypso and Circe. In
conclusion, Odysseus throughout his actions proves to be not only veil but a villain. He leads his
men into trouble, kills the suitors and maidservants without mercy, and betrays loyal wife. This
allows readers to truly see Odysseus other side. He was a villain and there is no doubt about it.
However, think about his so called heroic actions and the way he made everything work out for his
own benefits. He knew he was a villain and somehow still got away with

What Makes A Good Villain?
What makes a good villain? That word is most common in comic books and movies where the
antagonist brings down the protagonist, and saves the day. The word "Villain" in this day and
age has a negative connotation. When it was first used, it was a neutral term. A "Villain" was
actually a poor person who lived on a farm; he lived in a "villa". When the word was borrowed into
English as "Villain" it was used to refer to any lowborn rustic. The conditions in which these
people lived were so horrible that they had to resort to violence and crime to make ends meet. In
their own way, sometimes a villain has to do what he or she believes in, which i respect. Most
often people see the villain in a bad way, but not me. I see them as a...show more content...
For anyone who has read this story, it seems like Iago was the jealous type, but who can blame
him? I think Iago was very important in this story, regardless whether he was jealous or wanted
revenge. For the sake of the argument, I think Iago had every right into tricking his General that
his love was committing adultery, which will be discussed later in the paper. This story was one
of my favorite ones out of all the Shakespeare one's we read in class, simply because not only was
it a daunting read, but because what I realized what it truly was and it amazed me. Iago wanted
revenge over his general because he felt jealous and was not appreciated for all the work he has
done. By the end of Act 1, we find out that the reason Iago wanted to manipulate Othello into killing
his wife, Desdimona, was because he was angry with him for not giving him the rank of
Lieutenant, and giving it to the inexperienced Cassio, instead. And a sudden rumor came upon him
that he was also sleeping with his wife, Emilia. His plot was simple: he tells Emilia to take the
handkerchief while telling Othello that he had found in the bedroom of Cassio, which puts him in a
jealous rage into thinking that his wife is cheating on him with Cassio. Now, it is wrong to try to
spread gossip about your friends, you do not bite the hand that feeds you, but in this case Iago bit the
hand that fed him. Even though he was not promoted to

Who Is The Villain?
Everyone likes a typical hero, but everyone loves a committed villain. Villains have more to them
than just a simple reason for their decisions. Villains have a background which heavily influences
their mentality and leads to the decisions made to classify them as villains. An actor named Russell
Crowe has a keen interest for villains. He once stated, "I like villains because there 's something so
attractive about a committed person – they have a plan, an ideology, no matter how twisted. They 're
motivated". Russell Crowe is trying to convey the idea that villains are more committed to the story
than a hero. He believes this due to the evidence that the villain's plan before they fulfill their
objectives. Heroes on the other hand, are only motivated by the reaction to stop the villain's actions.
A villain who is twisted, has a plan, and is motivated is so attractive to the audience because they
have a reason for their actions.
Medea, a Greek mythology character who we read about this semester who would be an
exemplary villain based off of Russell Crowe's idea. Medea meets all of the qualities of a
committed villain. She is such an attractive villain by her ability to be able plan her revenge on her
cheating husband. This well–thought–out temptress is extremely motivated to do what it takes to
complete the tasks at hand. Medea dedicated so much for the Greek mythology hero, Jason, at the
end of the day Jason ended up backstabbing her. Jason was on a mission to acquire the

Odysseus Villain Essay
Throughout the Odyssey, Odysseus shows multiple times where he made bad choices due to his
hubris. He has shown many careless acts were he only thinks of himself. Is this not what a villain
does? He believes he is always right and will do what he thinks is right, like a villain. Although he
is brave and sometimes smart, so is a villain. Odysseus is no hero, if anything, he is more of a
villain. Odysseus puts his men in danger due to hubris and stupidity. When the men said " Why
not take these cheeses, get them stowed, come back, throw open all the pens, and make a run for
it? We'll drive the kids and lambs aboard. We say put out again on the good salt water!" Odysseus
then responded "Ah, how sound that was! Yet i refused. I wished to see...show more content...
In addition to this, he also slept with other women and by doing this, he did not respect his wife
and again, only thought of himself. Odysseus only cares about himself and his personal benefits,
like a villain. "With great power comes great responsibility" this quote is used by many heros and
odysseus obviously shows no responsibilities, so his power is simply bad, or evil . When
"trapped" on Calypso's island he shows no attempt to escape and instead finds pleasure in being
their. After 7 years on this island he finally decides to go home to has son which he has never
seen and his dog who is nearly dead due to old age (not to mention he barely does anything with
his dog and the first thing he says to his son is basically to ask him to risk his life for Odysseus's
house). " Don't waste your time on revenge. Those who hurt you will eventually get their own
karma". This quote shows that good people and heros should not seek revenge and should show
mercy to their enemies however Odysseus obviously shows no interest in mercy... After killing
many people and not letting a single person out which many heroes would have especially if the
people did not directly mistreat him and believed he was dead which would be a logical thought he
finally revealed himself to his wife. At first his wife did not recognize him which filled him with
rage even though he should be happy that his loyal wife wants to make

Darwin: Villain or Victim All through history, especially the past two hundred years, different
theories have tried to determine our existence and they continually have changed depending on the
group creating it or researching it. The one thing that has changed is the Holy Bible, God's written
word with our complete history in it. Reading it we come to understand our existence and purpose.
With that we also become aware of our gift we receive from God and that is freewill, and with
freewill it gives us the option to choose what we want to believe in. Although through history there
have been many individuals who have made discoveries in science which has pushed the boundaries
of human thought, reasoning, and belief about the big question, "How did humans come into
existence?" No matter what different theories have been made through the centuries the truth still
remains the same, we were created by God in His image to go and spread the gospel. The more we
attempt to spread the gospel, the more resistance and push back we get from non–believers. With the
different groups, the biggest resistance we have gotten is from the followers and believers of theorist
Charles Darwin and his work with the theory of evolution. Darwin, an English geologist and
naturalist from the 1800's, is best known for his contributions to science and mainly his theory of
evolution. He was the first scientist to develop a believable theory of evolution by

Essay about Ned Kelly-Hero or Villain?
Edward Ned Kelly was Australia's most famous bushranger; regarded by many as a hero who
fought "for the rights of the battler." Whether Ned Kelly was a hero, however, has been debated
throughout Australia's history. Evidence shows that Ned was a murderous villain who terrorised
towns and robbed wealthy pastoralists; a man who broke the law and committed an array of crimes
that were both evil and immoral. Ned Kelly was a villain; an outlaw and thief who is wrongly
immortalised as an Australian hero.
Ned Kelly was the leader of a lawbreaking group of criminals named the 'Kelly Gang;' a group
established in 1876 that included Ned, his brother Dan, and their two friends Steve Hart and Joe
Byrne. Ned was a significant figure in this gang;...show more content...
The culminating events of Ned Kelly's life led to the gruesome murder at Stringybark Creek; when
Ned knowingly murdered three innocent policemen. This incident occurred in October, 1880 when
a group of policemen were searching for Ned and his brother Dan near the Wombat Ranges. This
small contingency of officers included Sergeant Kennedy and Constables McIntyre, Lonigan and
Scalon. While searching for Dan and Ned, the officers split into two groups in order to find the
fugitives. Even though the officers were disguised as prospectors, Dan and Ned recognised them
immediately and began shooting at them. During the battle, three of the officers died; only McIntyre
managed to escape and return back to testify against Ned. Although some historians believe that the
murder of these officers at Stringybark Creek was an accident, evidence shows that Ned deliberately
shot at these innocent men. Just before leaving the crime scene, Ned stole Sergeant Kennedy's gold
watch and later stated, "What's the use of a watch to a dead man?" These evil, soulless words were
truly spoken by a cruel and deplorable villain.
Even though many consider Ned Kelly to be a significant national representative of Australian
culture and heroism, the evil deeds that Ned Kelly committed during his life were not forgotten on
the 27th of June, 1880. His criminal record was mostly overshadowed by his brave, courageous and
loyal traits that won him the love of his people

Essay about Movie Villains
Movie Villains
What really is a villain?
Villains have been alive forever, there is no way to easily detected them or stopping them. They
come in all shapes and sizes from animals to little children to even space aliens. Each villain has
his or her own particular style, usually greed. Another big reason for there evil acts is because of
revenge, revenge can turn innocent people in to cold blooded killers. The term used to represent
villains is antagonist, or someone who opposes the protagonist or hero of the story. Movie villains
are not just plainly the main enemy in a movie as in Nightmare on Elm Street series or on the Friday
the 13th series, but sometimes it is just a little enemy, sometimes killed...show more content...
Probably the earliest known villains would be the serpent in the garden of eve. It was the first
villains by coaxing Adam and Eve into eating the apple. From there more villains came, from Egypt's
Pharaohs to Chinese emperors. One movie era of villains was villains from the medieval times or a
little earlier, like Vikings and evil knights. More modern movie villains were
Nazi's, mad scientists, psychopaths, gangsters, people with super human powers, and spies. Villains
have evolved devilishly throughout the ages.
What are some famous villains?
There are millions of villains throughout movie history, some stand out more than others. One
villains I think anyone can recognize is the wicked witch of the west from The Wizard of Oz, she
is so sinister it makes her stand out and also everyone likes her flying monkeys. One villains from
biblical times is
Dathan from The Ten Commandments, who is the sinister helper of the Pharaoh
Ramses that tries to kill Moses. Dathan meets his despise by being engulfed in a trench than makes
him fall into a place worse than any other place in the world. A fairly old villain is Long John Silver
from Treasure Island. Long
John doesn't die in the end, he escapes because he tricks Jim into letting him go from his prison, he
escapes and probably is still trying to find gold to this day. One more

Villain Essay

  • 1. Louis Riel: Hero or Villain? Essay Louis Riel was one of the most controversial figures in Canadian history, and even to this day – more than a century after his execution – he continues to be remembered. Many believed him to be a villain; others saw him as a hero. So who was he really? Born in St. Boniface at the Red River Settlement of Canada (present–day Winnipeg, Manitoba) on October 22, 1844, Louis Riel hoped one day to follow his father's footsteps and become a great MГ©tis leader just like him. Eventually, Riel was seen as a hero to the French–speaking MГ©tis. In the Canadian West, however, most people regarded him as a villain due to his execution in 1885. Nevertheless, Louis Riel was not really a villain by heart; only a flawed man who made many mistakes in his life....show more content... Riel decided to help the MГ©tis out, hence became their main leader and spokesperson. He was prepared to speak for the MГ©tis and defend their rights. Riel's education, speaking ability, and father's history made him an obvious leader for his people. In time, Riel became deeply involved in his struggle to improve the lives of the MГ©tis People, and he was eventually seen as a visionary to them. He even spearheaded the MГ©tis into having two rebellions against the government. Another thing that Louis Riel did in order to help the MГ©tis was lead the Red River Rebellion of 1869. Leading this rebellion against the government was one of the very few things which caused Louis Riel to be seen as a villain. However, Riel's purpose was only to stand up for his people, not to go against the government. An event that led up to this rebellion was when William McDougall (appointed Lieutenant–governor of Northwest Territories) ordered a survey of the Red River Settlement on September 1869. Riel declared that the land survey was a threat to his people. So in October, the MГ©tis, led by Riel, managed to halt the Canadian surveyors and prevent them from entering Red River. Afterward, Riel helped set up Le ComitГ© National des MГ©tis (MГ©tis National Committee) prior to the rebellion. In early November, Riel led an armed revolt and seized Fort Garry, which was the headquarters of the Hudson's Bay Company. When William McDougall arrived at the fort, he found it blocked by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Romeo And Juliet Villain Essay William Shakespeare's fictional tragedy "Romeo and Juliet" takes place during a civil war between two families, the Montagues, and the Capulets, but that feud will end with a dreadful party of deaths. Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet, saw each other and fell head over heels for each other and got married by Friar Laurence, the local priest of the town. On the contrary, Tybalt another Capulet, disagrees with this and considers Romeo a criminal. He has a grudge against Romeo because Romeo snuck into the Capulet family party. When Tybalt is around, you know that something bad is going to happen. Tybalt is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because of his arrogance, aggressiveness, and loyalty to his family. From Act...show more content... If the Capulet family were fighting in a war in biblical times, and someone had to face Goliath, Tybalt would be the first one to volunteer, so that he can honor his family. He was a dog he would truly be man's best friend. An example of his loyalty is when at the party, he wanted to get rid of Romeo because it was a Capulet only party, "Tybalt– Uncle, there is a Montague, our foe; A villain, that is hither come in spite To scorn at our solemnity this night. Capulet– Young Romeo, is it? Tybalt–'Tis he, that villain Romeo. Capulet–Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone. He bears him like an honest gentleman, And, to say truth, Verona brags of him To be a virtuous and well –governed youth. I would not for the wealth of all this town Here in my house do him disparagement. Therefore be patient, take no note of him. It is my will; the which if thou respect, Show a fair presence and put off these frowns, An ill–beseeming semblance for a feast. Tybalt–It fits when such a villain is a guest. I'll not endure him. Capulet–He shall be endured. What, goodman boy? I say he shall. Go to! Am I the master here, or you? Go to! You'll not endure him? God shall mend my soul! You'll make a mutiny among my guests! You will set cock –a–hoop! You'll be the man!" This quote shows that Tybalt is loyal to his family even though Capulet says he is not to disturb Romeo. Even his uncle insults him and he still comes back with another excuse to get rid of Romeo. Even though that that part was early in the book, this still contributes to Romeo and Juliet's death because in the act where Tybalt killsMercutio, Tybalt still has a grudge of getting revenge on Romeo for crashing the Capulet party. Therefore because of his loyalty to the Capulet family Tybalt still has the grudge and wants to fight Romeo but Mercutio stands up and defends Romeo. From there Romeo gets angry at Tybalt for killing Mercutio, then kills Tybalt Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. What Makes A Good Villain? What makes a good villain? That word is most common in comic books and movies where the antagonist brings down the protagonist, and saves the day. The word "Villain" in this day and age has a negative connotation. When it was first used, it was a neutral term. A "Villain" was actually a poor person who lived on a farm; he lived in a "villa". When the word was borrowed into English as "Villain" it was used to refer to any lowborn rustic. The conditions in which these people lived were so horrible that they had to resort to violence and crime to make ends meet. For anyone who has read this story, it seems like Iago was the jealous type, but who can blame him? I think Iago was very important in this story, regardless whether he was jealous or wanted revenge. For the sake of the argument, I think Iago had every right into tricking his General that his love was committing adultery, which will be discussed later in the paper. This story was one of my favorite ones out of all the Shakespeare one's we read in class, simply because not only was it a daunting read, but because what I realized what it truly was and it amazed me. Iago wanted revenge over his general because he felt jealous and was not appreciated for all the work he has done. By the end of Act 1, we find out that the reason Iago wanted to manipulate Othello into killing his wife, Desdimona, was because he was angry with him for not giving him the rank of Lieutenant, and giving it to the inexperienced Cassio, instead. And a sudden rumor came upon him that he was also sleeping with his wife, Emilia. His plot was simple: he tells Emilia to take the handkerchief while telling Othello that he had found in the bedroom of Cassio, which puts him in a jealous rage into thinking that his wife is cheating on him with Cassio. Now, it is wrong to try to spread gossip about your friends, you do not bite the hand that feeds you, but in this case Iago bit the hand that fed him. Even though he was not promoted to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Who Is The Villain? Everyone likes a typical hero, but everyone loves a committed villain. Villains have more to them than just a simple reason for their decisions. Villains have a background which heavily influences their mentality and leads to the decisions made to classify them as villains. An actor named Russell Crowe has a keen interest for villains. He once stated, "I like villains because there 's something so attractive about a committed person – they have a plan, an ideology, no matter how twisted. They 're motivated". Russell Crowe is trying to convey the idea that villains are more committed to the story than a hero. He believes this due to the evidence that the villain's plan before they fulfill their objectives. Heroes on the other hand, are only motivated by the reaction to stop the villain's actions. A villain who is twisted, has a plan, and is motivated is so attractive to the audience because they have a reason for their actions. Medea, a Greek mythology character who we read about this semester who would be an exemplary villain based off of Russell Crowe's idea. Medea meets all of the qualities of a committed villain. She is such an attractive villain by her ability to be able plan her revenge on her cheating husband. This well–thought–out temptress is extremely motivated to do what it takes to complete the tasks at hand. Medea dedicated so much for the Greek mythology hero, Jason, at the end of the day Jason ended up backstabbing her. Jason was on a mission to acquire the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Odysseus Villain Essay Throughout the Odyssey, Odysseus shows multiple times where he made bad choices due to his hubris. He has shown many careless acts were he only thinks of himself. Is this not what a villain does? He believes he is always right and will do what he thinks is right, like a villain. Although he is brave and sometimes smart, so is a villain. Odysseus is no hero, if anything, he is more of a villain. Odysseus puts his men in danger due to hubris and stupidity. When the men said " Why not take these cheeses, get them stowed, come back, throw open all the pens, and make a run for it? We'll drive the kids and lambs aboard. When "trapped" on Calypso's island he shows no attempt to escape and instead finds pleasure in being their. After 7 years on this island he finally decides to go home to has son which he has never seen and his dog who is nearly dead due to old age (not to mention he barely does anything with his dog and the first thing he says to his son is basically to ask him to risk his life for Odysseus's house). " Don't waste your time on revenge. Those who hurt you will eventually get their own karma". This quote shows that good people and heros should not seek revenge and should show mercy to their enemies however Odysseus obviously shows no interest in mercy... • 7. Essay On Villain Or Victim? Payton Linder Vickery English 101 12 Dec 2014 Darwin: Villain or Victim All through history, especially the past two hundred years, different theories have tried to determine our existence and they continually have changed depending on the group creating it or researching it. The one thing that has changed is the Holy Bible, God's written word with our complete history in it. Reading it we come to understand our existence and purpose. With that we also become aware of our gift we receive from God and that is freewill, and with freewill it gives us the option to choose what we want to believe in. Although through history there have been many individuals who have made discoveries in science which has pushed the boundaries of human thought, reasoning, and belief about the big question, "How did humans come into existence?" No matter what different theories have been made through the centuries the truth still remains the same, we were created by God in His image to go and spread the gospel. The more we attempt to spread the gospel, the more resistance and push back we get from non–believers. With the different groups, the biggest resistance we have gotten is from the followers and believers of theorist Charles Darwin and his work with the theory of evolution. Darwin, an English geologist and naturalist from the 1800's, is best known for his contributions to science and mainly his theory of evolution. He was the first scientist to develop a believable theory of evolution by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay about Ned Kelly-Hero or Villain? Edward Ned Kelly was Australia's most famous bushranger; regarded by many as a hero who fought "for the rights of the battler." Whether Ned Kelly was a hero, however, has been debated throughout Australia's history. Evidence shows that Ned was a murderous villain who terrorised towns and robbed wealthy pastoralists; a man who broke the law and committed an array of crimes that were both evil and immoral. Ned Kelly was a villain; an outlaw and thief who is wrongly immortalised as an Australian hero. Ned Kelly was the leader of a lawbreaking group of criminals named the 'Kelly Gang;' a group established in 1876 that included Ned, his brother Dan, and their two friends Steve Hart and Joe Byrne. Ned was a significant figure in this gang;...show more content... The culminating events of Ned Kelly's life led to the gruesome murder at Stringybark Creek; when Ned knowingly murdered three innocent policemen. This incident occurred in October, 1880 when a group of policemen were searching for Ned and his brother Dan near the Wombat Ranges. This small contingency of officers included Sergeant Kennedy and Constables McIntyre, Lonigan and Scalon. While searching for Dan and Ned, the officers split into two groups in order to find the fugitives. Even though the officers were disguised as prospectors, Dan and Ned recognised them immediately and began shooting at them. During the battle, three of the officers died; only McIntyre managed to escape and return back to testify against Ned. Although some historians believe that the murder of these officers at Stringybark Creek was an accident, evidence shows that Ned deliberately shot at these innocent men. Just before leaving the crime scene, Ned stole Sergeant Kennedy's gold watch and later stated, "What's the use of a watch to a dead man?" These evil, soulless words were truly spoken by a cruel and deplorable villain. Even though many consider Ned Kelly to be a significant national representative of Australian culture and heroism, the evil deeds that Ned Kelly committed during his life were not forgotten on the 27th of June, 1880. His criminal record was mostly overshadowed by his brave, courageous and loyal traits that won him the love of his people Get more content on HelpWriting.net

They come in all shapes and sizes from animals to little children to even space aliens. Each villain has his or her own particular style, usually greed.
