Main Project: Comprehensive analysis of interference fits using finite element analysis and
experiments
Abstract: In manufacturing process, assembling the parts take long time whereas assembling fits don’t. Among all
fits, Interference fits have most appropriate mating parts without any intermediate parts and fits are widely used to
assemble two mating parts such as hub and bush. This project focus on the contact pressure occurs during the
interference fit between hub and bush, also analyze the stress & strain act on the materials by instrument strain
gauge using technics such as analytical, experimental & mathematical equations.
Future Scope : Fit plays a vital role in manufacturing industries(dies and models) to avoid losses during modeling &
production analysis have been carried in designing parts by Femap(nei-nastran) which is used for analyzing the
experiment to get theoretical value that can be carried over for all fit operations by using this software for better
utilization of available resources.
2. Mini Project: Title: Design and Fabrication of Punching machine using CAM
Abstract: This project is designed to punch bunch of sheets or papers at a time using CYLINDRICAL CAM followed by
KNIFE EDGE FOLLOWER. And Punching can be achieved when load applied manually.
Additional advantages: No electrical power required for punching
