- However, current video indexing solutions are still immature and lack of any standard. XML is used to design and construct a semi-schema based video model. Schema-based matching ensures that the video indexes are valid during data operations such as insertion and deletions, thereby minimizing the need of manual checking. The main purpose is to reduce objects being added within another object(s), thereby avoiding complex hierarchies and potential redundancies. The proposed video model supports object-relational modeling approach while adopting semi-schema based index construction and maintenance.
- Video has the much richer content, huge amount of raw data, so it is used for indexing. However, current video indexing solutions are still immature and lack of any standard. Due to the requirement of large storage space and processing power to handle visual media, there is a strong need for indexing and retrieval of visual information from a huge multimedia database. XML is used to minimizing the need of manual checking. It avoids complex hierarchies and potential redundancies.
