Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the Seleucid King of Syria, attacked Jerusalem in 168 BC. He looted and plundered the Temple, stopping the daily sacrifices and desecrating the holy place by setting up an abomination of desolation. This document summarizes the key points from a presentation about Jesus Christ and his fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. It discusses prophecies regarding Christ being born of a virgin, in Bethlehem, and his identity as the "Branch" from Isaiah. The summary highlights that Jesus came to pay for sins, give his life as a ransom, and purchase pardon for sinners through his death, as was foretold in scripture.
President John Kennedy once observed, “The history of man is the history of war?” Why is this statement true? Jesus prophesied, “You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars” (Mt. 24:6). Why is world peace so elusive and seemingly unattainable?

This is part two of a three part series on the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24:29-35). This answers the disciple's question, What will be the sign of your coming?
The document discusses that the Bible is the most reliable source for truth about the future because:
1) The Bible claims authority as the word of God and was authored by men who spoke from God.
2) The Bible has the greatest reliability based on the number of manuscripts and how close they are to the originals, as well as being correct archaeologically and scientifically.
3) The Bible has 100% accuracy in prophecies about Christ and the destruction of Tyre and Sidon, demonstrating it can foretell the future. Studying end times helps believers prepare for Christ's return and eternity.
The document discusses the origins and meaning of the term "Lucifer" in the Bible. It begins by examining the popular Christian belief that Lucifer was an angel who rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. However, the document finds that "Lucifer" is actually a Latin word meaning "morning star" or "light-bearing," and the correct biblical translation is "Day Star." It then analyzes references to the "morning star" and finds they refer to the planet Venus appearing before sunrise. The document concludes that the reference to the "Day Star" falling from heaven in Isaiah 14:12 is not about Satan, but rather is a taunting poem against the king of Babylon using symbolic celestial language common in
apparent contradiction in the bible Ahaziah.pdfBible Preaching
Ahaziah was anointed to be king of Judah at age 22 but did not sit on the throne until age 42. He was the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, but also considered the son-in-law of Ahab, king of Israel, through marriage to one of Ahab's daughters or Jehoram's daughters. There is evidence that Ahaziah had a joint reign with both Jehoshaphat and Ahab prior to becoming sole king of Judah due to the political alliances between their kingdoms.

Isaac grows old and his eyes dim, so he asks his son Esau to hunt venison so he can bless him before death. Rebekah overhears and tricks Isaac into blessing Jacob instead by disguising him as Esau. When Esau discovers this, he vows to kill Jacob after Isaac's death. Rebekah sends Jacob away to her brother Laban's house to avoid Esau's wrath until his anger subsides. The document examines themes of sight, struggle, and separation within the passage and concludes that true comfort comes through sanctification by the Holy Spirit rather than human schemes.
Isaac sowed crops and received a hundredfold return, prospering greatly with flocks, herds, and servants. However, the Philistines grew envious and stopped up wells dug by Isaac's father. Abimelech told Isaac to leave, so he moved and redug the wells, persevering despite opposition. Through patience, diligence, and recognizing God's blessings, Isaac retained prosperity and found peace at Rehoboth. The document examines the proper means to prosperity through effort, God's favor, enduring hardship patiently, and gratitude.

I. Leaving - Discussing Isaac after the death of his father Abraham.
II. Receiving - How God blessed Isaac after Abraham's death.

The document discusses the importance and power of God's word as revealed in scripture. It notes that the disciples could relate their eyewitness experience of Jesus' transfiguration on the Mount because they had God's word in writing to back up their testimony. It then provides numerous Bible verses emphasizing that the word of God is perfect, eternal, a light, spirit, judge, saves souls, true, faithful, settled in heaven, should not be blasphemed, pure, and holy.
Rebekah is presented as a type of the Christian church in the Old Testament. Some key points:
1) Rebekah is a Gentile who marries Isaac, representing Christians (Gentiles) joining with Christ (promised seed).
2) She is called out of her homeland and family to follow Abraham's servant to marry Isaac, representing Christians being called out of the world.
3) She believes and follows in faith without seeing Isaac first, representing the Christian's faith in an unseen God.
4) She accepts the proposal brought to her by Abraham's servant, representing Christians accepting the offer of salvation brought by the Holy Spirit.
5) The gifts given to her fore
The document argues that the overturning of Roe v. Wade highlights the need to abstain from premarital sex or "fornication" as commanded in the Bible. It provides several biblical passages from Acts, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, and Revelation that prohibit fornication and command believers to abstain from it. The document claims abstaining from fornication, rather than defending abortion rights, should be the focus for Christians in light of the new ruling.
This document discusses how one can prove their love for God through desire, obedience, and commitment. It examines several Bible passages to support this. Specifically, it argues that love for God is shown through: 1) Craving His word and hiding it in one's heart to avoid sin; 2) Compliance with His commands, as Jesus complied with the Father's command to lay down His life; and 3) Commitment to watch, pray, and follow God's word at all times, as Jesus was committed to the Father's commandment. -God keep His promises.
-God’s general providence is toward all creation
- All things were made through Him
God’s special providence is toward His children.
We may suffer now, but joy can and will come
God can see what we cannot see

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Victory in the Valley of Ajalon
1. Victory in the Valley of
Ajalon
Jos 10:1-15
I. Location
Jos 10:1
Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek king of
Jerusalem…
The name Jerusalem is mentioned here for the first
time in the Bible.
(it is Salem in Gen 14:18, Psa 76:2.)
Ps 76:2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his
dwelling place in Zion.
II. Explanation
Gen 14:18; Jos 10:1; Jdg 1:8
2. Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought
forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the
most high God. History
Josh 10:1 Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek
king of Jerusalem… Mistry
Judg 1:8 Now the children of Judah had fought
against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it
with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
Prophecy
The name “Jerusalem” is found the first time in Jos 10:1.)
It is in connection with war, and the next time, we find
Jerusalem on fire (Jdg 1:8).
This is a prophecy of the history of that city.
Adoni-zedec is here the King of Jerusalem.
His name means “lord of righteousness.”
He represents the counterfeit king in opposition to
Jerusalem’s true King (Melchizedec, King of
righteousness and King of peace).
3. He (Adoni-zedec) is a type of Anti-christ.
On account of Gibeon having gone over to Israel,
Adoni-zedec forms an alliance, which he heads as
leader.
His confederates are given by name.
Horam (the noise of a multitude), King of Hebron;
Piram (the wild ass), King of Jarmuth;
Japhia (causing brightness); King of Lachish;
Debir (an oracle), King of Eglon.
This satanic alliance was aimed at Gibeon and Israel.
The sun and moon were witnesses to Joshua’s great war,
and held their course till the triumph was complete.
For 2,000 years the Sun of righteousness and the moon as
type of the holy spirit has been witness and assistant in a
long warfare with the wickedness of this world. The Sun
and Moon will remain faithful till our battle is complete.
This miracle must have stricken with terror in the hearts of
the enemies of Israel, the pagan nations worshipped the
sun and the moon by imagination not inspiration.
4. Signs in heaven are frequently mentioned in the Bible.
Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith
the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at
noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
Isa 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the
constellations thereof shall not give their light: the
sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the
moon shall not cause her light to shine.
Ezek 32:7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover
the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will
cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not
give her light.
Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the
heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be
dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and
the moon into blood, before the great and the
terrible day of the LORD come.
Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened,
and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
5. In the tribulation and the battle of Armageddon these
signs will be fulfilled.
The sun and moon will be darkened.
What terror will take hold upon the great masses of those
who reject Christ!
Rev 6:12-17 12 And I beheld when he had opened
the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake;
and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and
the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of
heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth
her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty
wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it
is rolled together; and every mountain and island
were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of
the earth, and the great men, and the rich men,
and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and
every bondman, and every free man, hid
themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the
mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks,
Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that
sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the
Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and
who shall be able to stand?
6. III. Representation
Jos 10:2
That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great
city…
It is emphatically mentioned concerning Gibeon that it was
a great city of mighty men.
Josh 10:2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon
was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and
because it was greater than Ai, and all the men
thereof were mighty.
A friend of a fool can only provide further folly; but, a
friend of God’s friends is sure to find help in time of
trouble.
Josh 10:4 Come up unto me, and help me, that we
may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with
Joshua and with the children of Israel.
Gibeon appealed to Joshua for help.
Josh 10:6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua
to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from
thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and
7. help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in
the mountains are gathered together against us.
IV. Occupation
Josh 10:8
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have
delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of
them stand before thee.
God intends his soldiers to do battle. God could have
annihilated the Amorites with just a spoken word, but
he did not.
The more effort you give the more power of God you see.
Josh 10:9-10
9Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and
went up from Gilgal all night.
10And the LORD discomfited them before Israel,
and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and
chased them along the way that goeth up to
Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto
Makkedah.
Joshua doesn’t ask for a speedy end to the battle but for
provisions to FINISH the enemy.
8. Josh 10:12-13 12 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in
the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites
before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight
of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou,
Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood
still, and the moon stayed, until the people had
avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this
written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in
the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down
about a whole day.
V. Devotion
Josh 10:14-15
14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that
the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the
LORD fought for Israel. 15 And Joshua returned, and all
Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
One great accomplishment does not mean your personal
status has changed from your position before the battle.
