Radio waves have the longest wavelengths and lowest frequencies, and are used by televisions and radios to receive signals. Microwaves have slightly shorter wavelengths than radio waves. Visible light has the perfect wavelengths and frequencies to be seen by the human eye and makes up the rainbow. Ultraviolet light has shorter wavelengths than visible light and causes things to glow purple. X-rays have wavelengths just shorter than ultraviolet light and can pass through soft tissues but not hard tissues like bone.
