Victor Blinov was a famous hockey player from Omsk, Russia. He played for the Omsk teams "Spartak" and "Aeroflot" before joining Moscow's famous "Spartak" team in 1964. Blinov won gold at the 1968 Winter Olympics and scored 10 goals in 32 international games. He was known for his powerful shot that could reach speeds of 200 km/h. Tragically, Blinov died of a heart attack at just 22 years old during a hockey practice. Omsk now has a sports complex named after Blinov where an annual memorial tournament is held in his honor.
