This document outlines the agenda and presentations for an educational conference on poverty and inequality. Over the course of one day, several speakers will discuss: the eroding social compact toward higher education; the nexus of poverty and education; children's rights and educational policy globally and nationally; why poverty and inequality matter; the myths and politics of education; and the effects of poverty on children's education. The agenda includes breakout sessions on these topics as well as a summation of the discussions. The conference aims to advocate for policy shifts to better serve disadvantaged students and communities through alternative approaches to education.
