system which continually measures, displays and records
surface voltage on charged moving objects.
It is an extremely useful safety and preventive maintenance
device that finds use in many industrial applications.
Introducing Valstat ® SM20
The Valstat® SM20 system consists of:
 Sensors (number of sensors depends on application)
 Field station controllers (number of controllers depends on
application)
 Central touch screen monitor

Set-up and assembly
 Sensors (one to max eighteen sensors) are fixed at locations where the charge on the moving
targets need monitoring
 Each sensor is connected to its field station controller
 Controllers are connected to a common touch panel for remote or local continuous monitoring and
analytics
 The touch panel is positioned based on sensing points, the application and user requirements

About the electrostatic sensor
 Permanently fixed at the location where the charge level
on the moving target needs monitoring
 Real-time, accurate and continuous signal, proportional
to electrostatic charge
 Neutralising effect of static charge eliminator can be
monitored as well

Field station controller
 Each field station controller (or FSC) acts as an integrator
for an electrostatic sensor and the HMI or touchscreen
 The FSC receives the sensor signal and converts it into
RS485 which can be displayed on the touchscreen
 FSC also has a relay output for alarms

device (such as a pen drive) by

in hours (Default setting is 1 min)
