Valley Teen Ranch is a licensed foster family agency and adoption agency located in Central Valley that has served at-risk male youth since 1987. It utilizes a bureaucratic structure headed by a chief executive director and includes administrative staff, coordinators, social workers, house supervisors, and staff. Valley Teen Ranch provides residential housing, education, therapy, and vocational programs to empower at-risk youth ages 9-17 and young adults 18-21. The agency's mission is to provide hope through caring relationships and developmental opportunities for residents' mental, social, physical, and spiritual growth.

2.  Valley Teen Ranch has dedicated their services to at-risk
male youth since 1987.
 Since 1991 Valley Teen Ranch has been a licensed Foster
Family Agency and Adoption Agency.
 In 2002 Valley Teen Ranch continued to expand and
added a Transitional Living Home.

3.  The organizational structure of Valley Teen Ranch is based on
the bureaucratic system. Beginning with the Chief Executive
Director of the agency, Connie Clendenan, followed by the
Administrative Staff.
 The agency also has Group Home Coordinators, and Clinical
Coordinators which help maintain the agency’s functions.

4.  The agency also provides three designated Social
Workers to each of the homes on the Ranch.
 Following in the chain of command are the house
supervisors and staff who help to carry out the daily
functions for each home on the Ranch.
 Each house on the ranch has a lead supervisor who over
sees the house supervisor and staff. House supervisors and
staff duties include twenty-four hour supervision of the
residents in the home. Both house supervisor and staff are
child care workers who implement discipline and provide
the residents with living and social skills.

5.  Valley Teen Ranch serves clients in and around the Central Valley
counties.
 The main focus of the agency is to assist the residents and their
families as they undergo the process of rebuilding their lives together.
 Valley Teen Ranch addresses the needs for underprivileged children.

6.  At-risk youth ages 9-17 who were previously
detained in juvenile hall.
Young adults ages 18-21 transitioning out of the
juvenile system.

7.  County Probation Departments: make periodic
home visits at the ranch.
 Juvenile Court System: residents are court ordered
into the care of Valley Teen Ranch after residing for a
period of time in juvenile hall.

8. To provide alternatives of hope to troubled young
people and their families through caring relationships
and developmental opportunities for the whole

9.  Valley Teen Ranch offers residential housing with twenty four hour supervision.
 Valley Teen Ranch structures their program to ensure residents re-enter society
as assets.
 Valley Teen Ranch affords residents with access to education (on-location) via
the Golden Valley Unified School District.
Valley Teen Ranch provides weekly therapy sessions and Vocational Programs that
promote their behavioral/social skills (School, Church, Youth Group, Counseling).
 In general residents are there for 12-15 months, depending on their court order
and progress. Upon graduating the program, they reunite with their family or go to a
Foster home.

10.  Valley Teen Ranch empowers their clients to grow in all
