This document discusses lines, angles, and planes. It defines parallel lines, perpendicular lines, skew lines, and parallel planes. It also defines the different types of angles formed by a transversal intersecting two lines, including corresponding angles, alternate interior angles, alternate exterior angles, and same-side interior angles. The document provides examples of identifying types of lines, planes, and angle pairs and classifying angles based on a transversal. It concludes with a quiz to test the understanding of classifying lines, planes, and angle pairs.
This document defines key vocabulary terms related to parallel lines and transversals, including parallel lines, transversals, interior angles, exterior angles, alternate interior angles, same-side interior angles, alternate exterior angles, and corresponding angles. It provides examples of how these terms apply when two parallel lines are intersected by a transversal, and lists the parallel line postulates that corresponding angles and alternate interior angles are congruent if lines are parallel.
This document discusses properties of parallel lines and angles formed when lines are cut by a transversal. It defines key angle terms such as corresponding angles, alternate interior angles, and alternate exterior angles. Examples show how to use postulates and theorems about parallel lines to calculate unknown angle measures. Theorems addressed include the corresponding angles postulate and theorems about alternate interior and exterior angles. The document provides examples finding specific angle measures and asks students to identify the theorem or postulate used in different problems.
