This document is a report submitted by Group 3 on the utilization of labor statistics. It discusses key topics like the definition of labor statistics, proper utilization of labor forces, objectives for utilization, child labor in Bangladesh, present sectors of labor and wages. Child labor statistics show 46% in agriculture and 36% in services. Issues behind weak development of the labor system include lower economic conditions, lack of social protection and weak labor unions.

3. What is labor statistics?
Labor statistics is a set of quantitative
data used to analyze the size and
structure of labor markets and how
these change over time. To monitor the
dynamics of the labor market with
respect to the size, distribution and
characteristics of the labor force, labor
statistics is important.

4. Utilization of labor statistics
To proper use of labor power for utilizing our labor
forces it is necessary to fix up some important steps.
We must have to keep our eyes at following

6. Child labor in Bangladesh




Child labor is work that
exceeds a minimum number of
hours, depending on the age of
a child and on the type of work.
Such work is considered
harmful to the child and should
therefore be eliminated.
Ages 5-11: At least one hour
of economic work or 28 hours
of domestic work per week.
Ages 12-14: At least 14
hours of economic work or 28
hours of domestic work per
week.
Ages 15-17: At least 43
hours of economic or domestic
work per week.
