OUR STORY
In 2016, we setup a startup that
focused on catering to purposeful
travel and sustainable tourism. Back
then we focused on the Youth (18-
35's) Study Abroad market.
After successfully servicing some
contracts we decided we wanted to
invest more into the strength of our
brand Uthando Africa as an online
marketplace.
Today we have established the brand
Uthando Africa, an online maretplace
for all experiences Africa.
INTRODUCTION
According to the UNWTO, Based on available
data for Africa, growth in 2017 is estimated at 8%.
The region consolidated its 2016 rebound and
reached a record 62 million international arrivals.
North Africa enjoyed a strong recovery with
arrivals growing by 13%, while in Sub-Saharan
Africa arrivals increased by 5%.
Revenue from packaged holidays reached $618M
for Africa and is expected to grow to $834M in
2022. Revenue in the Online Travel Booking
segment amounts to US$4,232m in 2018.
The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to 2017
was USD72.8bn (3.3% of GDP). This is forecast to rise
by 4.0% to USD75.6bn in 2018. e direct contribution of
Travel & Tourism to GDP is expected to grow by 4.1%
pa to USD113.2bn (3.3% of GDP) by 2028.
Money spent by foreign visitors to a country (or visitor
exports) is a key component of the direct contribution
of Travel & Tourism. In 2017, Africa generated
USD48.7bn in visitor exports. In 2018, this is expected
to grow by 4.1%, and the region is expected to attract
74,192,000 international tourist arrivals

people, schools and villages access
