This document discusses using mobile technology and SMS messaging to collect geo-tagged data, photos, and citizen feedback from the field in Punjab, Pakistan. It provides examples of government departments already using inexpensive Android smartphones and daily SMS reporting to collect transaction data and improve service delivery and citizen engagement. Specific initiatives mentioned include using mobile apps to track absenteeism, asset verification, and lady health workers, as well as an initiative in Khanewal to collect citizen reports on sanitation issues.
