This document discusses two user studies conducted to understand intuitive gestures for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In the first study, 16 participants created gestures for 13 drone commands, resulting in 176 logged gestures. The gestures were analyzed and categorized into a taxonomy. In the second study, another 16 participants selected their preferred gestures from the first study's gesture sets for each command. The results of both studies aim to help designers create better gesture-based drone control informed by actual user behavior and preferences.
