Use the counting techniques from the last chapter. A bag contains four red marbles, two green
ones, one fluorescent pink one, three yellow ones, and three orange ones. Suzan grabs five at
random. Find the probability of the indicated event. She gets all the red ones, given that she gets
the fluorescent pink one.
Solution
Given that she gets the fluorescent pink one, she needs to pick 4 more from remaining 12
marbles
Out of these 4 more, she can pick 4 red marbles in 4C4 ways.
Total number of ways of selecting 4 marbles from 12: 12C4
Probability of all red picked up = 4C4 / 12C4 = 1/495 = 0.00202
