Our friendship started slowly but grew stronger over time, like a growing tree. At first, we were not expecting to become friends until I reached out to her. While there were some initial problems, as we got to know each other better everything started to make sense and it felt like we were destined to be friends to support each other through life's challenges.

In 2014, we calculated the cumulative savings generated by America’s K–12 school voucher programs over two decades. This year, we continued that study by doing the same for seven states’ tax-credit scholarship programs, which cover 93 percent of total scholarships awarded to date. These types of school choice programs differ from school vouchers in how they’re funded, however. Transnational education one of the great growth industries of the future
Higher education has become a major global industry. While the number of students studying at universities outside their own country continues to grow, the most dramatic development has been the increase in the number of students studying for a foreign degree without leaving their home country. So-called ‘transnational’ higher education, which embraces universities offering their degrees by distance-learning, through franchise partners and validated centres, as well as by setting up ‘international branch campuses’, is increasingly seen as one of the great growth industries of the future. This presentation, based on qualitative interviews with senior university administrators and higher education experts from a number of countries, provides an assessment of the growth prospects for this rapidly evolving, and largely unregulated, international market sector.

Thoughts from US employers... “Cultural Awareness, Sensitivity and Tolerance” and an “International Perspective” Top List of Attributes Valued by HR Execs in Candidates Who’ve Studied Abroad There are now even more reasons for college students to consider studying abroad. A new survey of global human resource executives released today affirmed the value of a study abroad experience in the hiring process. Nearly three in four (73%) cited study abroad as important when evaluating the resumé of a job candidate for a junior–level position. Furthermore, the study, conducted by Global HR News and commissioned by The Scholar Ship, showed that 8 in 10 of the HR executives surveyed believed that a study abroad experience was an important factor for overseas job placement within their companies.
