The Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) is a professional, multidisciplinary conference hosted by the Honors College Student Ambassadors at Sam Houston State University. It provides undergraduates an opportunity to present their research, scholarship, and creative activities. The URS aims to give students a forum to present their work to others, practice public speaking skills, and network with students and faculty. It offers scholarships for outstanding presentations and workshops on topics like abstract writing and oral presentations.

Student Ambassadors, who believe in the
importance of sharing undergraduate research in
a multi-disciplinary environment. The URS:
Provides a forum to present their research
to other students and faculty
Gives students an opportunity to

future conferences
Offers students a chance to network with
other students and faculty
Helps students grow as emerging
professionals in their fields of study
To achieve these ends, the URS is a congenial
and professional environment.
Our Mission
Faculty moderators
Select faculty experts evaluate all presentations
and give constructive feedback to students, to
help them hone their presentation and public-
speaking skills.
The entire event is free
To encourage students to present, the SHSU
colleges sponsor the URS so that there are no
registration fees for those who present or attend.
Meals and free gifts are provided.
